Accordingly, Ms. NTNH, 58 years old, residing in Phuoc Tan ward, Bien Hoa city, was hospitalized with dull abdominal pain, sometimes with abdominal cramps and sweating.

Previously, the patient had visited a clinic near his home, was diagnosed with stomach pain and prescribed medication. However, the pain did not subside and became more severe, so he had to be hospitalized for emergency treatment.

At the hospital, the patient was given pain medication but his condition did not improve. The doctors ordered an endoscopy. Upon examination, the doctors discovered a foreign object in the posterior part of the antrum, a piece of hard stick (wooden stick) 0.3cm in diameter, deeply embedded in the stomach wall, creating an abscess causing swelling and pus.

Doctors used specialized tools to remove the 4cm long foreign object.

Specialist Doctor I Nguyen Xuan Duong, Endoscopy Center, Hoan My Dong Nai Hospital shared that in this case, the foreign object caused a perforated stomach and abscess. After the doctors successfully removed the foreign object from the patient's body, Ms. H's pain was significantly reduced.
