Latest Arabica and Robusta prices as of January 6, 2026
Coffee prices today fell sharply on the London exchange but edged up slightly on the New York exchange. Lower-than-average rainfall in Brazil is becoming a key supporting factor for arabica prices on the international market.
According to the Somar Meteorologia meteorological agency, in the week ending January 2nd, the state of Minas Gerais – Brazil's key arabica-growing region – recorded only 47.9 mm of rainfall, equivalent to 67% of the multi-year average.
Along with unfavorable weather conditions, the strengthening Brazilian real also contributed to supporting arabica prices, with the currency rising to a three-week high against the USD on January 5th, reducing the selling incentive for Brazilian coffee exporters.
In contrast to arabica, robusta coffee prices are under downward pressure due to more abundant global supply, particularly from Vietnam – the world's largest robusta producer.

In the long term, the outlook for global supply continues to put pressure on prices as Conab raises its forecast for Brazilian coffee production in the 2025–2026 season, while Rabobank suggests the market will experience increasing oversupply in the coming seasons, driving arabica prices down sharply from the end of 2026.
Rabobank also emphasized that the current agricultural market is not only affected by supply and demand but is increasingly dependent on geopolitical factors.
