Thus, from the beginning of the year until now, gas prices have increased twice, decreased seven times, and remained unchanged three times.
World gas prices are calculated based on the CP gas (Contract Price) reference price, published by major suppliers such as Saudi Aramco to set LPG prices in the international market. The world CP gas price is usually announced at the end of the month and takes effect from the beginning of the following month.
Currently, gas prices in Vietnam still depend on world import prices because Vietnam has not yet met its domestic consumption needs. Therefore, gas price fluctuations in Vietnam depend on many factors such as: the USD/VND exchange rate, gas transportation costs, business volume; supply and demand fluctuations, import tax policies, value-added tax, etc.
On the global market, as of 5:50 PM on November 30th (Vietnam time), the price of natural gas (LNG) in the US market was trading at $4.85/mmBTU, an increase of 6.41% compared to the previous price.
