Pig price today in the South. (Synthesis: Du Y)

In general, the live hog market on April 11 showed a clear differentiation between regions. The North was under pressure to reduce prices in many localities, while the South witnessed a strong and widespread price increase. The Central and Central Highlands regions saw a mixture of increases and decreases.

Strictly handle cases of hiding the epidemic, causing widespread spread

In Ha Tinh, African swine fever has been occurring in 7 communes in Cam Xuyen, Huong Khe districts and Ha Tinh city for less than 21 days. Given the complicated developments of the epidemic, along with the changing weather, which reduces the resistance of livestock, creating favorable conditions for pathogens to develop; transportation and trading activities to restore herds have increased.

To proactively take measures to prevent and control epidemics, ensure safety for livestock development and speed up the first vaccination progress in 2025 for livestock herds according to Plan No. 578/KH-UBND dated December 2, 2024 of the Provincial People's Committee, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned departments, branches, People's Committees of districts, cities and towns to focus on implementing and directing the implementation of tasks.

Accordingly, for localities with dangerous infectious disease outbreaks, especially African swine fever in Cam Xuyen, Huong Khe districts and Ha Tinh city, focus on directing and mobilizing resources to completely handle outbreaks, not allowing the disease to break out and spread widely; promptly handle and destroy dead pigs, ensuring accuracy in quantity, volume of destruction, records and procedures according to regulations; promptly detect, prevent and strictly handle cases of buying, selling, transporting sick animals, dumping dead animals that spread disease and pollute the environment. Do not let the arrangement of local organizations and apparatus affect the work of disease prevention, control and control.

Organize inspection and screening of livestock diseases throughout the area to ensure early detection and timely and proper handling of outbreaks; strictly implement reporting of livestock diseases from the grassroots level as soon as an outbreak occurs, according to Ha Tinh newspaper.
