* Dr. Nguyen Xuan Duong, Chairman of the Vietnam Animal Husbandry Association, said that the number and design capacity of Vietnam's industrial animal feed factories are currently too large, far exceeding demand; the exploitation level is low, about 48%. Of which, domestic enterprises only account for 37.5%; enterprises with foreign direct investment (FDI) account for 62.5%.
The distribution of factories is unbalanced, mainly concentrated in the Red River Delta and Mekong River Delta - densely populated areas, there will be no more space for livestock development. Especially after 2025, when the Law on Livestock on relocating livestock facilities outside residential areas takes effect.
The structure of animal feed is changing, becoming more suitable to the structure of livestock herds.
Dr. Duong said: "In which, pig feed accounts for 55.8%, a significant decrease compared to the peak when pig feed accounted for 70%. This also proves that the use of industrial animal feed in livestock farming in Vietnam is increasing day by day".
