In Gia Hiep, agriculture has long been a pillar of people's lives. In recent years, despite many difficulties, the commune has gradually exploited its advantages, expanded its area, and increased the value of each unit of production land. The 2020 - 2025 term ended with impressive figures such as: average production value reached 209 million VND/ha, far exceeding the initial target; people's income increased to 56.5 million VND/person/year; nearly 90% of the crop area has proactive irrigation water sources. Along with that, more than 698 hectares of coffee have been replanted, contributing to improving the productivity and quality of the local key crop.

In production, farmers are no longer struggling with small fields but have boldly innovated their methods. Intercropping models, applying water-saving irrigation techniques, and organic farming are increasingly popular. Many households have proactively joined cooperatives, creating conditions for linking production and consuming products more sustainably. These changes have made Gia Hiep agricultural products increasingly gain a foothold in the market, while at the same time, enhancing people's confidence in the policy of restructuring local agriculture.

A typical example of this direction is Mai Thao Macadamia Company Limited. From locally harvested macadamia nuts, the company has processed many products such as: butter roasted nuts, shelled kernels, pure oil. All undergo a strict quality control process.

Mr. Tran Van Tu - representative of the company shared that the dried macadamia product with 4-star OCOP certification is a clear proof of the connection between production and processing, the path to building a clean agricultural product brand, affirming its position in the large market. The story of Mai Thao macadamia nuts also inspires many farmers to believe that, from familiar products, if they know how to exploit and improve, Gia Hiep agricultural products can completely go far.

From the specific models, it can be clearly seen that Gia Hiep's agricultural path does not stop at raw coffee beans or macadamia nuts, but is gradually moving further with processing and brand building to increase value. This is also the commune's major orientation in the coming period. Entering the 2025 - 2030 term, Gia Hiep sets a target of production value per hectare of agricultural land reaching 220 - 240 million VND; average income of people reaching 70 - 75 million VND/year; over 98% of crop area is actively irrigated and applies water-saving irrigation.

The commune also strives to have at least 4 more OCOP products of 3 stars or higher, while improving the quality of existing products. In addition, livestock farming is oriented towards concentration, semi-industrial, and environmental protection. At the same time, forestry is also given attention, from planting scattered trees to developing eco-tourism under the forest canopy.

According to the Chairman of the Commune People's Committee - Nhu Van Hoc: Agriculture still plays a fundamental role in economic development, however, to fully exploit its potential, the locality needs to continue to overcome fragmented production, strengthen linkages and build sustainable brands.

Therefore, in the new term, the Party Committee and the commune government will focus on innovating the growth model, focusing on high-tech agriculture, processing industry as the driving force and services - tourism as a breakthrough. "We are determined to develop the economy, protect the environment, preserve cultural identity, so that Gia Hiep becomes a model new rural commune, aiming for a type V urban area by 2030", Mr. Nhu Van Hoc added.
