Phan Thiet Ward was established and put into operation from July 1, 2025 on the basis of merging 3 old wards: Lac Dao, Phu Trinh and Binh Hung. The ward has an area of over 4.46km2 and a population of over 85,400 people, with 44 residential groups.

The ward has 3 ports (seafood, waterway, road) and many markets and commercial centers. Regarding social order, the whole ward is currently managing many released prisoners, drug users, juvenile offenders and those at risk of violating the law.
Up to now, the total number of decentralized administrative procedures is 411; the number of received records is nearly 4,961 records, 4,798 records are resolved on time, 29 records are overdue, the cause is due to software errors...

Mr. Tran Nguyen Loc, Chairman of the People's Committee of Phan Thiet Ward, said that the locality is currently facing a number of difficulties and problems with capital, site clearance, and decentralization of management. In addition, the locality is facing difficulties in the field of administrative procedure settlement. In particular, when operating a 2-level local government, the People's Committee still lacks specialized civil servants in charge of a number of areas such as finance - budget, science and technology, land management, etc.

At the meeting, representatives of departments, branches, sectors and specialized departments under the People's Committee of Phan Thiet ward raised a number of difficulties and made proposals regarding personnel, professional qualifications, management issues, and staffing in the education sector...

Phan Thiet Ward People's Committee recommends that superiors pay attention to supporting and providing funding for the ward to proactively invest in necessary projects in the Phan Thiet area. On the other hand, it is recommended that the province organize training on expertise and profession in the fields under the Department of Culture and Society. The training content needs to be practical and easy to apply...
Along with that, the ward requested that provincial departments provide guidance on contents related to professional tasks directly managed and resolved by the People's Committee at the commune level...

After listening to opinions and discussions from the locality and departments, branches and sectors, Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Nguyen Huu Thong, on behalf of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, commended and acknowledged the results achieved by the locality in the past time. At the same time, he emphasized that, in addition to the achieved results, there are still many difficulties and limitations that need to be focused on and resolved.
The Provincial National Assembly Delegation fully recorded the opinions and recommendations of the ward as well as the departments, branches and sectors to synthesize and inform the relevant branches and levels. From there, there will be solutions and goals to operate the 2-level local government apparatus smoothly and effectively.
Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Nguyen Huu Thong suggested that the leaders of Phan Thiet Ward People's Committee focus on managing, promoting the achieved results and overcoming current shortcomings. In particular, it is necessary to review the problems related to personnel work and rearrange them appropriately. Relevant departments and branches continue to accompany the grassroots, monitor, guide and support localities to complete assigned tasks.
