Since the end of October 2025, landslides have continuously occurred on Gia Bac and Dai Ninh passes (National Highway 28B), causing traffic disruption. Particularly serious was on October 28, D'ran Pass on National Highway 20, the route connecting Da Lat with the old Ninh Thuan area (now Khanh Hoa) was severely eroded, making it impossible to travel.
Next, a series of passes such as Prenn, Khanh Le, and Mimosa were also seriously eroded. As of November 20, 4/6 main traffic routes connecting Da Lat city with the remaining areas were seriously eroded and could not be used. Although not isolated, only 2 routes, Sacom Pass and Ta Nung Pass (on DT725), could be used. However, these 2 mountain passes are inherently narrow, and all vehicles are concentrated here, creating a lot of pressure.
To ensure traffic safety, the province has mobilized human resources and means to ensure safety and smooth traffic for people and vehicles entering and leaving the Da Lat urban area, which is also the administrative center of the province. The work of surveying and assessing damage to traffic works was urgently and decisively directed by the provincial leaders immediately after the incident occurred.
In particular, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of the Department of Construction... directly inspected the scene and directed the recovery plan. Mobilizing resources to urgently repair and restore damaged traffic works. The instructions from the Government and the Ministry of Construction have also added motivation and resources to the work of restoring traffic in the locality.
To speed up the recovery process, many specific solutions have been deployed for each important route. Specifically, for Prenn Pass - the most important traffic gateway of Da Lat, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi has requested the Department of Construction to coordinate with the Deo Ca Traffic Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company and Deo Ca Construction Joint Stock Company to mobilize maximum means and machinery to urgently reinforce the landslide site. The goal is to soon reopen half of the road in the next few days, meeting the needs of convenient and safe travel for residents and tourists.
On the afternoon of November 24, the Department of Construction and relevant agencies organized a survey team to review the entire pass to determine the conditions for opening the road. By the evening of November 24, according to the reporter, at the landslide site on Prenn Pass, workers from Tan Vu Construction and Trade Company Limited were urgently driving Larsen piles to prevent the landslide from spreading; 132 piles have been completed at the large landslide site near Datanla Bridge. Currently, the units are continuing to drive piles at the second landslide site, expected to be completed in about 2 days. Once completed, Prenn Pass will be able to temporarily operate in both directions.
As for Mimosa Pass, the Ministry of Construction has directed Project Management Board 85 (PMU 85) to take over and temporarily restore traffic before November 30. PMU 85 has submitted a long-term plan to the Ministry of Construction, including a plan to build a flyover over the landslide section. In the immediate future, this unit is still urgently building a temporary two-way road, expected to be completed before November 30, to reduce the load on other routes. In addition, for other key mountain passes, the province is also speeding up the process of determining the cause to promptly repair and overcome landslides and damage...
