Báo Lâm Đồng•26/11/2025
From November 15 to 19, Mimosa Pass at Km226+600 - Km226+800 and Km249+932 - Km249+968, National Highway 20 (Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat) experienced serious landslides. The entire road surface was completely broken, about 50m wide, about 30m deep, the slide length was up to 100m, cutting off traffic and threatening the lives of people living at the foot of the slope. Immediately after the incident, on November 20, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee issued a decision to declare a natural disaster emergency for landslides on Mimosa Pass. On November 24, at the regular meeting of the Provincial People's Committee members in November 2025, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi assigned the Department of Construction to coordinate with Project Management Board 85 ( Ministry of Construction ) to urgently fix the problem and soon open the Mimosa Pass route before November 30. According to experts' analysis, the main cause of this incident was the impact of heavy rain that lasted for many days. The amount of water accumulated from the cliff caused the basalt layer under the roadbed to swell, thereby destroying the foundation structure, causing the area to seriously subside. The authorities have proposed two technical solutions to completely handle this problem. The first is to build a flyover, the second is to build a stone roadbed and re-pave the asphalt. Currently, the construction unit has constructed, opened temporary roads, paved asphalt and reinforced the road surface to ensure it can be opened to traffic by the end of November 2025. According to the construction unit, every day this unit mobilizes about 40 people with dozens of vehicles and machines, working from 7am to about 9pm with the goal of completing the work as quickly as possible.
Mimosa Pass is 11km long, playing an important role in connecting trade from the administrative center of Lam Dong province with the southern region.
Along with Prenn Pass, after the landslide, Lam Dong province adjusted the route, regulating vehicles to Da Lat area through Sacom Pass and Ta Nung Pass.
