The award for the film shot in Ho Chi Minh City with a certificate of merit went to the film crew of Tunnels: Sun in the Dark . The film was shot at the studio of producer HK Film and partly at the outdoor scene in Cu Chi Tunnels.

The film crew also received support from leaders and departments of Ho Chi Minh City during the film making process.

The 24th Vietnam Film Festival, co-organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, took place in Ho Chi Minh City - the city that was recently officially recognized by UNESCO as a global creative city of cinema.
