Proud of our revolutionary traditions.
According to Tran Minh Trong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Tan Quan commune, Tan Quan is a land rich in revolutionary traditions. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Tan Quan welcomed residents from Gia Dinh, Bien Hoa, Thu Dau Mot, and some provinces in the North and Central regions who came to reclaim land and establish settlements, transforming barren lands into places of peace and prosperity, living alongside the indigenous S'tieng and Khmer ethnic groups and workers on rubber plantations.

During the two wars of resistance against French colonialism and American imperialism, the people of Tan Quan commune, with their fervent patriotism and unwavering determination, bravely fought alongside the revolutionary forces to defend their homeland. Place names like Tong Cui, Bo Com, and Nui Gio were once a source of terror for foreign invaders. In particular, the heroic fighting and sacrifices of the rubber plantation workers in Xa Trach and Quan Loi, and the renowned guerrillas of Soc Tranh, have become "red addresses" for the local people.
Currently, Tan Quan commune has 17 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, 247 martyrs, and the former communes of Phuoc An and Tan Loi have been awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the Party and the State.
The patriotic tradition, unwavering will, and spirit of unity of the entire people have become the source of strength, endogenous resources, and a great driving force for Tan Quan to enter a new period of development with pride and confidence.
Following the merger, Tan Quan commune possesses outstanding geographical advantages and potential. The commune has a large land area, a young population, and abundant human resources; it has specialized agricultural areas, perennial industrial crops, and potential for developing services and trade. Currently, the commune is focusing on developing high-tech agriculture linked to the OCOP (One Commune One Product) program, community tourism; and attracting businesses to invest in agricultural processing, renewable energy, residential areas, and new urban development.
In addition, the commune has one industrial cluster, Phuoc An, with an area of 75 hectares, and a land area of approximately 40 hectares belonging to Union Trading - Service Co., Ltd. ( Ho Chi Minh City) which is producing high-tech agricultural crops.
Over the past period, under the leadership and direction of the Party Committee and the government, and with the collective efforts of the people, Tan Quan has made positive progress in various fields.
Bui Van Thieng, Secretary of the Party Branch of Xa Trach Soc hamlet, happily stated: "The hamlet has 127 households, nearly 700 inhabitants, with over 57% of the population being S'tieng ethnic minority people. The majority of the hamlet's residents work in agriculture, industrial zones in the province, and rubber plantations. Currently, there are no longer any poor households in the hamlet, and many households have a relatively high or wealthy income."
Aspiration to rise
According to Nguyen Van Thu, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Tan Quan commune: To continue developing Tan Quan commune and bring a more prosperous and fulfilling life to the people, the Party Committee, government, and people of Tan Quan commune are working daily to exploit potential and advantages, create breakthroughs in transportation infrastructure, promote comprehensive digital transformation, and develop human resources synchronously. At the same time, they are proceeding with commune planning, zoning development, identifying industrial zones and clusters, focusing on shifting the economic structure in the right direction, strongly developing high-tech agriculture, farms, cooperatives, developing OCOP products, expanding services and trade, renovating traditional markets, and encouraging rural entrepreneurship with new, large-scale models...
To realize the goal of socio-economic development and improve the people's living standards, the action program implementing the Resolution of the Tan Quan Commune Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term stated: Maximize the commune's advantages to develop agriculture in a modern direction. Prioritize resources for developing farm economic models, cooperatives, and cooperative groups, creating stable jobs and increasing income for the people.
Continue to implement the restructuring of crop patterns towards high-economic-value crops. Actively coordinate and support businesses, farms, and farmers in investing in and applying scientific and technological advancements to agricultural production, especially in disease prevention and control, preservation, and processing of agricultural products.
Tan Quan – a land built on revolutionary traditions, leveraging its existing resources and potential, and fostering creative labor, is striving to progress day by day, confident in a bright future.
Emphasis should be placed on coordinating and organizing training courses on farming techniques, management, and agricultural business for farmers. In particular, focus should be placed on vocational training for young workers to encourage them to stay in rural areas and work in the agricultural sector.
In addition, develop trade and services, and the private economy. Support the people and businesses to participate in diversified trade and service sectors; upgrade and develop traditional markets in the area.
“In the coming time, the locality will closely and synchronously coordinate with functional agencies of the province to provide legal support for the establishment of private economic enterprises based on effectively exploiting the potential and strengths of the commune, especially enterprises operating in the agricultural sector…” - added Nguyen Van Thu, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Tan Quan commune.
