Fresh flower prices have cooled down, making gifts in high demand for International Women's Day (March 8th).

For the past few days, the market for flowers and gifts for International Women's Day has become vibrant, offering a wide variety of designs and price ranges for customers to choose from. Unlike previous holiday seasons, when fresh flowers – an indispensable gift on this important occasion – usually saw a sharp price increase, this year prices have cooled down. All types of flowers have significantly reduced in price compared to previous years, and the supply of both domestic and imported fresh flowers is quite abundant.

Ms. Minh Phuong, owner of a flower shop on Le Hong Phong Street (Vinh City), said: "This year, the weather has been quite favorable, so the domestic flower supply is quite abundant with all kinds of flowers such as roses, lilies, orchids, etc."

Besides domestic flowers, many shops also import high-end varieties such as Ecuadorian roses, Dutch tulips, peonies, etc., giving customers more choices. What's special is that the prices of fresh flowers are quite affordable.

Compared to previous years, flower prices this holiday season are only 50% of what they used to be. A pretty bouquet of flowers in a vase can be purchased for just 70,000 - 100,000 VND; while elaborate baskets and arrangements can range from 250,000 VND to over a million VND.”

Flowers are inexpensive, fresh, and beautiful, making them a popular choice for many. In particular, common varieties like ranunculus, orchids, and red carnations are frequently purchased for decorating or gifting during holidays.

"This year, especially during the March 8th holiday season, the low price of fresh flowers has led to an increase in customer demand. In the past three days (March 4th, 5th, and 6th), our shop alone has sold thousands of bouquets of various kinds," said Ms. Le Thu Hien, owner of a flower shop on Tan Phuc Street.

Equally popular are gift baskets combining imported fruits and fresh flowers. A fruit basket (grapes, pears, tangerines, strawberries, cherries, etc.) accompanied by chrysanthemums, ranunculus, or roses, skillfully arranged and decorated with beautiful bows and ribbons, priced from 300,000 VND upwards, is a popular choice for International Women's Day gifts.

“Usually, fruit baskets are bought by parents and students to give to their teachers; and by agencies and businesses to give to partners and customers. The prices of imported fruits are stable this year; you only need to spend about 300,000 - 500,000 VND to get a beautiful and practical gift. During this holiday season, our store sells an average of 50-70 baskets per day,” said Ms. Phuong Mai, owner of an imported fruit shop on Truong Van Linh Street (Vinh City).

Equally vibrant are gift items for women: cosmetics, fashion , shoes, etc. To attract customers, gift shops, shopping malls, fashion brands, and supermarkets also introduce many beauty and body care product sets at affordable prices for consumers to choose from.

Along with that, there are promotional programs and discounts to attract customers. For example, programs like "A Gift for the Woman I Love," "Month of Her," "Spreading the Fragrance," etc., offered by supermarkets and brands are providing fixed-price or drastically reduced prices on products for women: facial cleansers, makeup removers, shampoos, sunscreens, etc.

In addition, cosmetic stores offer reasonable and attractive promotions such as complimentary greeting cards or small product samples for trial. To make the gift even more appealing and meaningful, many stores design their own stylish bows or pretty gift boxes for their products.
