The market displays and sells agricultural products, many of which meet VietGAP, organic, and OCOP standards. Typical agricultural products include coffee, honey, bird's nest, medicinal herbs, durian, avocado, passion fruit, macadamia nuts, rice, corn, processed foods such as vermicelli, cakes, pickled bamboo shoots, and some woven products with unique characteristics made by ethnic minority communities.
According to the People's Committee of Mang Yang District, in recent years, agricultural products produced by the people of Mang Yang District have been fragmented and small-scale, and the value generated has not been commensurate with the potential advantages of the district's land and labor resources. In addition, the market access for safe agricultural products and the way production facilities in the area access the market still face many difficulties, and consumers are hesitant when choosing to buy safe agricultural products.
Therefore, the market is one of many ways to help consumers access quality and safe agricultural products, and identify their origin. It is also an opportunity for farmers to exchange information and understand consumer needs and preferences, in order to improve product quality and enhance the competitiveness of local agricultural products.
Shortly afterwards, the Gia Lai Provincial Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Development, in coordination with the People's Committee of Kong Chro District, organized a market to introduce products from ethnic minority and mountainous regions.
The market took place from August 3rd to 5th on Le Hong Phong Street (Kong Chro town), featuring 30 stalls from various communes and towns, along with some production and business households and enterprises from within and outside Kong Chro district.
The stalls mainly display and introduce products such as: rice, cassava, corn, various types of beans, wild vegetables, green vegetables, root vegetables, fruits, chicken, products made from brocade, baskets, herbs, food, handicrafts, etc. The participating products ensure quality, food safety and hygiene, have clear origins and meet VietGAP, organic, and OCOP standards at the district and provincial levels.
After three days of operation, the market attracted 4,000 visitors and shoppers; total revenue is estimated at 200 million VND.
