Rice price today November 16, 2025: Little new change

Today's domestic rice prices on November 16, 2025 are mainly flat for both rice and paddy. Meanwhile, Vietnam's rice export prices are remaining stable.

The rice market on November 16, 2025 was mainly sideways in both paddy and rice products.

Rice prices today (November 16) remain stable, there is little remaining uncut supply, buying and selling transactions are more active.

• IR 50404 rice (fresh) is priced around 5,100 - 5,300 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice (fresh) is traded at 5,300 - 5,500 VND/kg; OM 18 rice (fresh) is priced at 5,600 - 5,700 VND/kg;
• OM 380 rice (fresh) is around 5,700 - 5,900 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 rice is priced at 6,000 - 6,200 VND/kg. Meanwhile, Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) is fluctuating around 5,600 - 5,700 VND/kg.
• The price of IR 4625 sticky rice (fresh) is at 7,300 - 7,500 VND/kg; while IR 4625 sticky rice (dried) is at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg. The price of 3-month-old dry sticky rice is trading around 9,600 - 9,700 VND/kg.

Rice prices today (November 16) remain stable, trading is weak, and volume is slow.

• The price of raw rice IR 50404 is at 8,500 - 8,600 VND/kg; finished rice IR 50404 is at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg;
• The price of raw rice OM 5451 fluctuates at 7,950 - 8,100 VND/kg; while raw rice OM 18 costs 8,500 - 8,600 VND/kg.
• Raw rice OM 380 is priced at 7,200 - 7,300 VND/kg; finished rice OM 380 is priced at 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, raw rice CL 555 is priced at 7,600 - 7,800 VND/kg.
• The price of IR 504 raw rice fluctuates at 7,600 - 7,700 VND/kg; IR 504 finished rice fluctuates at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg. The price of Soc Det raw rice is 7,600 - 7,800 VND/kg. The price of Dai Thom 8 rice is traded around 8,700 - 8,900 VND/kg.
• Sticky rice price is 21,000 - 22,000 VND/kg; Regular rice is at 11,000 - 12,000 VND/kg; Nang Nhen rice is priced at 28,000 VND/kg.
• The price of long grain fragrant rice is 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice is 16,000 - 17,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice remains at 22,000 VND/kg.
• The purchase price of common white rice is 16,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice is 21,000 VND/kg; Soc Thuong rice is 16,000 - 17,000 VND/kg; and Soc Thai rice is 20,000 VND/kg.
• Taiwanese fragrant rice is currently priced at 20,000 VND/kg; while Japanese rice is currently priced at 22,000 VND/kg.

For by-products, the price of OM 5451 broken rice is at 7,350 - 7,500 VND/kg (up 100 VND), the price of bran is at 9,000 - 10,000 VND/kg.

In the export market, Vietnamese rice prices have remained unchanged. Accordingly, 100% broken rice is currently priced at 314 - 317 USD/ton; 5% broken rice is purchased at 415 - 430 USD/ton; and Jasmine rice is priced at 478 - 482 USD/ton.

Thus, the price of rice today, November 16, 2025, fluctuated slightly compared to yesterday.

Ca Mau 's BL9 rice variety will reach more than 700 hectares in 2024

At the end of 2023, the BL9 rice variety of Ca Mau was specially allowed to circulate by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (now the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment ), paving the way for expanded production. The Provincial Agricultural Seed Center quickly coordinated with localities to implement and initially recorded clear results. BL9 has been processed by a number of cooperatives, built a brand and achieved 3-star OCOP certification, creating opportunities to expand the consumption market.

BL9 is a fragrant rice variety crossbred from RVT and OM4900, with a growing period of 100–105 days, a yield of 5.5–7 tons/ha and good resistance to brown planthoppers, blast, stem borers, especially salinity of 4‰. Through many trials, the variety has shown to be suitable for the province's ecological conditions, especially the shrimp-rice area. Farmers evaluate BL9 as growing well, with few pests and diseases, and stable yield.

After being recognized, the cultivated area increased rapidly, reaching more than 700 hectares in 2024 alone. Many households expect BL9 to become the province's new key variety. Currently, cooperatives and production households have signed contracts with businesses inside and outside the province, helping to ensure output and strengthen confidence in the locally researched rice variety.
