Today, November 16, 2025, domestic rice prices remained mostly unchanged for both milled rice and paddy. Meanwhile, Vietnam's export rice prices are also maintaining stability.

The rice market on November 16, 2025 remained mostly stable for both paddy and milled rice.

Rice prices remained stable today (November 16th), with little remaining unharvested supply, and trading activity improved.

• Fresh IR 50404 rice is currently priced around 5,100 - 5,300 VND/kg; fresh OM 5451 rice is trading at 5,300 - 5,500 VND/kg; and fresh OM 18 rice is priced at 5,600 - 5,700 VND/kg.
• Fresh OM 380 rice is maintaining a price of around 5,700 - 5,900 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 rice is priced at 6,000 - 6,200 VND/kg. Meanwhile, fresh Dai Thom 8 rice is fluctuating around 5,600 - 5,700 VND/kg.
• The price of fresh IR 4625 glutinous rice is currently at 7,300 - 7,500 VND/kg; while dried IR 4625 glutinous rice is priced at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg. The price of 3-month dried glutinous rice is trading around 9,600 - 9,700 VND/kg.

Rice prices today (November 16th) remain stable, trading activity is weak, and supplies are arriving sporadically.

• The price of raw IR 50404 rice is 8,500 - 8,600 VND/kg; the price of finished IR 50404 rice is 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg;
• The price of OM 5451 raw rice fluctuates between 7,950 and 8,100 VND/kg; while OM 18 raw rice is priced at 8,500 - 8,600 VND/kg.
• Raw OM 380 rice is priced at 7,200 - 7,300 VND/kg; while finished OM 380 rice is priced at 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, raw CL 555 rice is priced at 7,600 - 7,800 VND/kg.
• The price of IR 504 raw rice fluctuates between 7,600 and 7,700 VND/kg; the price of finished IR 504 rice fluctuates between 9,500 and 9,700 VND/kg. Soc sticky rice raw rice is priced at 7,600 - 7,800 VND/kg. Dai Thom 8 rice is trading around 8,700 - 8,900 VND/kg.
• The price of glutinous rice is currently 21,000 - 22,000 VND/kg; regular rice is at 11,000 - 12,000 VND/kg; and Nang Nhen rice is priced at 28,000 VND/kg.
• The price of long-grain fragrant rice ranges from 20,000 to 22,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice is priced at 16,000 to 17,000 VND/kg; and Huong Lai rice remains at 22,000 VND/kg.
• Common white rice is being purchased at 16,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice is currently at 21,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice is at 16,000 - 17,000 VND/kg; and Soc Thai rice is at 20,000 VND/kg.
• Taiwanese fragrant rice is currently priced at 20,000 VND/kg, while Japanese rice remains at 22,000 VND/kg.

Regarding by-products, the price of OM 5451 broken rice is currently at 7,350 - 7,500 VND/kg (an increase of 100 VND), while the price of rice bran is at 9,000 - 10,000 VND/kg.

On the export market, Vietnamese rice prices remain unchanged. Accordingly, standard 100% broken rice is priced at 314-317 USD/ton; 5% broken rice is purchased at 415-430 USD/ton; and Jasmine rice is priced at 478-482 USD/ton.

Thus, today's rice prices (November 16, 2025) show slight fluctuations compared to yesterday.

The BL9 rice variety in Ca Mau reached over 700 hectares in 2024.

At the end of 2023, the BL9 rice variety from Ca Mau was granted special permission for circulation by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (now the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment ), paving the way for its widespread production. The provincial Agricultural Seed Center quickly coordinated with localities to implement the program and initially recorded clear positive results. BL9 has been processed and branded by several cooperatives and has achieved OCOP 3-star certification, creating opportunities to expand its market.

BL9 is an aromatic rice variety bred from RVT and OM4900. It has a growth period of 100–105 days, a yield of 5.5–7 tons/ha, and good resistance to brown planthopper, blast, stem borer, and especially salinity of 4‰. Through many trial seasons, the variety has proven suitable for the province's ecological conditions, especially in shrimp-rice farming areas. Farmers rate BL9 as having vigorous growth, low pest and disease resistance, and stable yields.

After receiving official recognition, the cultivated area increased rapidly, reaching over 700 hectares in 2024 alone. Many households expect BL9 to become the province's new flagship rice variety. Currently, cooperatives and individual producers have signed contracts with businesses inside and outside the province, helping to ensure market access and strengthen confidence in the locally researched rice variety.
