In the Mekong Delta region, the price of CL rice has edged up to 8,200 - 8,400 VND/kg. Meanwhile, IR 504 rice remains stable at 7,900 - 8,100 VND/kg.

In the glutinous rice segment, prices have decreased slightly. Dry IR 4625 glutinous rice has fallen to 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg, while dry 3-month glutinous rice remains at 9,600 - 9,700 VND/kg. Fresh IR 4625 glutinous rice is currently being purchased at 7,700 - 7,900 VND/kg.

Some localities have recorded signs of a slight increase in buying activity. In Can Tho and Kien Giang , traders have started inquiring about purchasing more at higher prices than before.
Dong Thap and Long An provinces remain in a slow trading state, with relatively little new summer-autumn rice being purchased. In An Giang province, the market is somewhat more promising as farmers offer fresh rice for sale and traders increase purchases at stable prices.
Vietnamese rice export prices remain stable, with low-emission rice reaching record highs in the Japanese market.
According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), Vietnamese rice export prices on June 17, 2025 remained unchanged. 5% broken rice is currently trading at US$388/ton, lower than Thailand (US$401/ton) and Pakistan (US$392/ton), while similar rice from India remains the lowest at US$382/ton. 25% broken rice is priced at US$364/ton, and 100% broken rice at US$318/ton.
In the context of an increasingly fierce international market, Vietnam has just recorded a significant milestone as the first 500 tons of low-emission rice under the "Green Vietnamese Rice" brand have been exported to Japan, the world's most demanding market.
The shipment, supplied by Trung An High-Tech Agriculture Joint Stock Company, reached a price of 850 USD/ton FOB at Ho Chi Minh City port, and over 1,000 USD/ton if calculated at CIF price, equivalent to premium Hom Mali rice from Thailand and double the price of regular Vietnamese fragrant rice.
This is Vietnam's first rice product produced under a model of emission reduction linkages, and also the initial achievement of the Project to develop 1 million hectares of high-quality, low-emission rice in the Mekong Delta by 2030, according to Decision 1490/QD-TTg approved by the Prime Minister on November 27, 2023.
Following this success, it is expected that by October 2025, an additional 3,000 tons of ST25 rice with low-emission certification will be exported to Australia, further affirming the position and quality of Vietnamese rice on the global agricultural map.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, this is an opportunity to reshape rice production methods in the Mekong Delta, which accounts for more than 50% of the country's rice output, towards high-quality, branded products with sustainable added value.
