Straw mushroom prices increase sharply

Việt NamViệt Nam02/11/2023

(HG) - Currently, the price of straw mushrooms has increased by about 5,000-10,000 VND/kg compared to 3 months ago. Straw mushrooms produced are not only sold locally in the province but are also purchased by traders and shipped to Ho Chi Minh City and many other provinces and cities in the country for consumption.

Prices increase, mushroom farmers are more excited.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Vui, in Hamlet 4, Hoa An Commune, Phung Hiep District, said that in this crop he sowed 450 bottles of spawn and more than 450 rolls of straw. The price of round and white grade 1 mushrooms sold to traders is 45,000-47,000 VND/kg, after deducting expenses, the profit is over 40 million VND/crop.

According to many households, growing straw mushrooms requires little capital, low costs, high profits, stable product output, and can be grown multiple times a year. The price of straw mushrooms has just increased again because the supply is low this year while demand is increasing. In addition, due to increased input production costs such as raw straw prices, increased labor costs, etc., mushroom prices have increased further.
