Domestic market: Coffee recovers strongly
According to records at 5:00 a.m. this morning (July 18, 2025), domestic coffee prices have rebounded with an increase ranging from 800 - 900 VND/kg, after decreasing in yesterday's session. In key areas, the average coffee price is at 92,300 VND/kg.
In Lam Dong province, traders are currently buying coffee at VND92,500/kg, an increase of VND800/kg compared to the previous day.
In Dak Lak province, the purchase price reached 92,500 VND/kg, an increase of 900 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Gia Lai province also recorded an increase of VND800/kg, bringing coffee prices to VND92,300/kg.
In Ward 1 Bao Loc, Hoa Ninh Commune, Duc Trong Commune and Dinh Van Lam Ha Commune (Lam Dong), the current price is 92,000 VND/kg, an increase of 800 VND/kg compared to the previous day.
According to experts, the recovery in coffee prices is due to traders increasing exports from Brazil to the US before the 50% tax rate takes effect from August 1.
That’s because if the tariffs are imposed, they would almost completely block the supply of coffee from Brazil to the U.S. “The Brazilian Coffee Exporters Association (Cecafe) said that negotiations are at an advanced stage regarding coffee trade with the U.S.”
However, market analysts believe that in the coming time, coffee prices may continue to decrease at a moderate level, due to the impact of financial speculators and the gradual improvement in supply. Weather in major coffee producing countries such as Vietnam, Brazil, etc. is forecast to be stable, with no drought, thereby supporting supply.

Problems in granting food safety certificates
“The Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA) said it has sent a petition to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment regarding the difficulties businesses are facing in the process of applying for Food Safety Certificates for exported plant-based products, especially spices.”
According to Circular No. 12/2025/TT-BNNMT effective from July 1, 2025, the right to issue this certificate has been transferred to provincial agencies. However, due to not fully inheriting the guidance content from Circular 44/2018/TT-BNNPTNT, some localities are confused in implementation, leading to delays in issuing certificates.
Delays in the licensing process have caused many disadvantages for export enterprises, when goods are delayed in customs clearance, directly affecting contract implementation progress and causing financial losses.
In particular, many businesses in the spice industry are currently facing great difficulties as they cannot promptly meet certification requirements from demanding markets such as the EU. This not only disrupts the export process but also negatively affects the supply chain, production plans and reputation with international partners.
