Durian prices on July 23 continued to stabilize in major growing regions, a positive signal for farmers after many sharp declines. However, slowing domestic consumption and lack of breakthrough export demand still put pressure on domestic consumption.
According to a survey by Chogia.vn, today's durian prices continue to remain stable in major growing provinces such as the West, Southeast and Central Highlands. In general, the purchase price of popular RI6 in buckets is only from 20,000 - 26,000 VND/kg, averaging around 25,000 VND/kg - a record low price since the beginning of the year. Meanwhile, the beautiful RI6 still maintains a significantly higher price, fluctuating from 40,000 - 46,000 VND/kg depending on the region.
In the Southwest region, the price of selected RI6 is still at 42,000 - 46,000 VND/kg, while the price of RI6 in bulk is only 20,000 - 26,000 VND/kg. The price of beautiful Thai durian remains stable at 76,000 - 78,000 VND/kg, while the price of bulk durian is around 38,000 - 45,000 VND/kg.
Similarly, the Southeast region recorded the price of selected RI6 at 40,000 - 45,000 VND/kg, RI6 in bulk from 24,000 - 26,000 VND/kg. The highest price of selected Thai durian was 80,000 VND/kg, in bulk from 42,000 - 45,000 VND/kg.
In the Central Highlands, prices also remain stable: RI6 beautiful selection fluctuates at 42,000 - 45,000 VND/kg, RI6 bucket from 22,000 - 25,000 VND/kg. Thai durian beautiful selection is highest at 80,000 VND/kg, bucket from 40,000 - 45,000 VND/kg.
