*Pig price in the Northern region:
This morning, in the Northern region, except for Hanoi, Nam Dinh and Thai Binh , the price of live pigs in the remaining localities decreased by 1,000 - 2,000 VND/kg.
Accordingly, the highest price of live pigs is currently 66,000 VND/kg, recorded in Hanoi, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Ha Nam, Thai Binh and Nam Dinh . The remaining provinces in the region also purchase at 65,000 VND/kg.
*Pig price in the Central Highlands region:
Here, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh and Quang Ngai provinces also fluctuated in the same direction, slightly decreasing by 1 price.
Currently, live pigs in this market are being traded at around 64,000 - 65,000 VND/kg. Of which, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Lam Dong and Binh Thuan are selling at 65,000 VND/kg, the highest in the region.
*Pig price in the Southern region:
Here, prices remained unchanged this morning. Specifically, traders in the South today purchased live pigs at around 63,000 - 65,000 VND/kg. Of which, Ben Tre and Bac Lieu are the two provinces buying and selling at 63,000 VND/kg, the lowest in the country.
*From the beginning of the year to the end of September 2024, Vietnam spent about 1.24 billion USD to import meat and animal by-products for food, up 19.2% over the same period last year, mainly from the Indian market.
Meat and meat products are imported from countries such as: India, USA, Russia, Germany, Poland and Korea.
Specifically, detailed data for the first 8 months shows that the largest market supplying meat and meat products to Vietnam is still India, accounting for 22.5% of the total imported meat and meat products of the country, with 125.14 thousand tons, worth 413.67 million USD, up 22.7% in volume and 37.9% in value over the same period in 2023.
In the first 9 months, meat imports from India were approximately 470 million USD, making it Vietnam's largest supplier of meat and meat products.
