The value of independence and freedom

On this day 79 years ago, tens of thousands of patriotic Vietnamese people gathered under the red flag with yellow star, listening to President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.

September 2, 1945 has gone down in history as an important milestone for the Vietnamese people on the path of fighting for independence, unification, building and developing the country.

Nearly eight decades have passed, President Ho Chi Minh's ideology in the Declaration of Independence has become a great strength, connecting millions of Vietnamese people to stand side by side, raising high the red flag with yellow star, overcoming thousands of difficulties; achieving great achievements in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

On the border land of Lao Cai today, flowers are blooming brightly, the national flag is flying in front of every porch, in every neighborhood or village.
