Diverse applications of robots
The global robotics market, particularly the humanoid robot segment, is projected to reach $7 trillion by 2050, with over 600 million devices deployed worldwide . While not yet able to directly enter the global market, the introduction of robotics models by Vietnamese businesses demonstrates serious investment and a timely response to market demands.
The VinMotion humanoid robot (from VinGroup ) is capable of performing basic tasks such as walking, waving, and interacting through gestures, demonstrating great potential for application in production lines, services, and daily life. Initially, the robot will be deployed in VinFast's manufacturing plants to assist with component transportation and quality control. In the medium and long term, the research unit will develop intelligent robot lines capable of communication, image processing, language processing, etc., and applications in logistics, healthcare, education, and customer service.
The VSR01 security patrol robot was researched and developed by Viettel.
Similarly, the VSR01 security patrol robot, researched and developed by Viettel, has also just been introduced to the public. The robot is designed to replace or support security forces in industrial parks, residential areas, factories, and critical infrastructure.
Viettel stated that the robot is capable of continuous operation in all weather conditions, detecting incidents and providing timely warnings thanks to AI technology and modern sensors. In unforeseen circumstances, the robot can be manually controlled, while under normal conditions, it automatically moves according to a pre-programmed terrain map. The robot's AI software system is entirely owned by Viettel. When fully charged, VSR01 can operate for 3-4 hours and can also run on batteries.
AI robots and smart kiosks from the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Digital Transformation Support and Consulting.
In Ho Chi Minh City, the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Support and Consulting Center (DX Center) has implemented a smart public administration center model, utilizing AI robots and smart kiosks in several agencies. This product suite is capable of providing initial guidance and support for online application and submission, helping citizens minimize waiting times at public administrative service centers in wards and communes.
According to Mr. Phan Phuong Tung, Director of DX Center, the AI robot can assist in obtaining queue numbers and connecting with public administrative services, which is what differentiates it from previous robots. This product is currently being piloted at the public administrative service centers of Saigon, Phu Nhuan, An Lac, Phu My, and Thu Dau Mot wards…
“Previous robots mainly performed simple functions such as delivering goods, bringing snacks, or greeting people, but this robot, using AI, is assigned specific tasks to support and guide citizens. With the smart public administration center model including AI robots and smart kiosks, in the future, public administrative service centers at the ward and commune levels may only need one specialist to coordinate,” said Mr. Phan Phuong Tung.
AI is entering many fields.
Mr. Nguyen Trung Chinh, Chairman of CMC Group, shared: “CMC aims to bring 'Make in Vietnam' AI products closer to the community, thereby promoting innovation and the application of technology in all aspects of social life. All products are designed with high practical applicability and easy integration into the existing infrastructure of organizations, businesses, and government agencies.”
CMC Group introduces AI solution specializing in facial recognition.
The CMC Institute for Applied Technology Research - CMC ATI (part of the CMC Group) has introduced a series of the most advanced AI products and solutions currently available. Most notably, the intelligent image management and analysis solution using facial recognition technology (CIVAMS) has been widely applied in many government agencies, ministries, and key areas such as security, transportation, and smart cities. In addition, CMC AIBOX and CMC AIVISION are two Edge AI devices that allow for direct data and image processing at the edge without requiring an internet connection.
VNPT, with its AI solutions integrated into administrative procedures processing systems, supports citizens' inquiries through smart kiosks, while also improving the efficiency of document processing in the context of the transition to a two-tiered local government model. Similarly, in-flight internet services offer a new experience for passengers, affirming VNPT's capabilities in deploying modern aviation telecommunications infrastructure, keeping pace with global trends…
FPT Group has both a strategy for applying AI and has recently focused heavily on AI in management. Specifically, FPT AI Agents provides AI assistants to support human tasks and, in practical application, has helped increase operational productivity by 67% and save 40% in costs; Libra enables fast, accurate, and secure text lookup and is currently serving over 20 million end users.
Mr. Vu Anh Tu, FPT's Chief Technology Officer, said: "With AI, FPT has pioneered research and has formed a comprehensive AI ecosystem from infrastructure to platforms, solutions, and services, serving hundreds of millions of users every month."
These robotic and AI solutions emerged not long after the Politburo's Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024, on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, demonstrating the rapid and responsive transformation of Vietnamese technology corporations and reflecting their strong belief in a prosperous era for the nation.
