Hotel internship - improving service skills
Over the past three months, Pham Xuan Anh, a student majoring in Hotel Management, has had rewarding experiences as an intern in the restaurant area of Lady Hill Sapa Hotel.

Knowledge of the profession, especially the skills of preparing food, is applied quite closely to reality. Xuan Anh said that the setup process at the restaurant is quite similar to what she has learned, the only difference is that each hotel has its own standards and arrangements to facilitate service.
In the early days, Xuan Anh was still confused about arranging the tools or choosing the fastest way to set up. But thanks to the enthusiastic guidance of the restaurant staff, she gradually overcame the difficulties and became more proficient in her work.
In the hotel lobby area, student Ma Thi Do is also trying her hand at reception work, from welcoming and assisting guests to handling situations.
“There were times when I was confused and had to ask for help. But thanks to the dedicated guidance of the reception staff, I learned more practical skills,” said Ma Thi Do.
Currently, Lady Hill Sapa Hotel is accepting 20 students from the Faculty of Tourism to practice in many different positions, such as: reception, housekeeping, restaurant, gym... Each area has staff to directly guide in the form of "hand-holding", thereby helping students grasp specific tasks, such as: check-in, check-out, room preparation, table setup, customer service...

Travel internship - training tour guide skills
Unlike the hotel environment, students majoring in Tourism get to work organizing and operating tours.
Student Le Huy Tung, majoring in Tourism and Travel Services Management, is interning at S-Travel Rising Sun Tourism Company Limited. Here, Tung participates in office work such as preparing documents, researching outbound, inbound, and domestic tours... to directly accompanying the trips.
“When I joined the group, I learned how to welcome guests, run the tour and handle unexpected situations. These experiences were very useful, helping me better understand the work of a tour guide,” Tung shared.
School - business cooperation, expanding career opportunities
This year, the Faculty of Tourism has 90 students assigned to prestigious tourism, hotel and travel businesses in the province. The close coordination between the school and businesses is showing clear results, contributing to training quality human resources for the local tourism industry and motivating students to confidently enter the profession.

Lecturer Nguyen Thi Oanh - who is directly in charge of students going for internships, said: The school always considers carefully in choosing businesses. Businesses must ensure prestige, operate in the right training field, have convenient locations associated with tourist destinations so that students have many opportunities to gain practical exposure.
“We pay special attention to units with enthusiastic guides, creating conditions for students to directly participate in tasks such as building tourism programs, surveying services or supporting tour operations. Businesses also need to show a spirit of companionship by supporting accommodation, welfare and output orientation for students."
From the business side, Mr. Nguyen Hong Thang - Director of S-Travel Sunrise Tourism Company Limited said: "Many students after their internship have been retained by the company to work officially or as collaborators. Thanks to early experience in the profession, they quickly catch up, confidently lead tours, and vividly explain ethnic culture."
Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong - CEO of Lady Hill Resort also affirmed: "We consider interns as potential human resources. If you are capable and love the job, we are ready to welcome you back as official employees. This is both a way to accompany training and proactively prepare the next generation for the local tourism industry."
