Meeting of the Steering Committee for Tourism Development of Lao Cai Province

On the morning of November 4, the Provincial People's Committee announced the decision and held a meeting of the Lao Cai Provincial Tourism Development Steering Committee. Comrade Nguyen Thanh Sinh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Lao Cai Provincial Tourism Development Steering Committee chaired the meeting.

The establishment of the Steering Committee aims to preserve, reasonably exploit and promote the value of tourism resources, build a safe, civilized and sustainable tourism environment, gradually turning tourism into an important economic sector, actively contributing to economic growth and local budgets.

According to the report of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province, by the end of October 2025, Lao Cai welcomed over 9.4 million visitors, equivalent to 91.67%. Total revenue from tourism reached 38,878 billion VND, equivalent to 83.69%.

The main tourism products have been clearly defined and are gradually affirming their own brand for Lao Cai tourism. The province's tourism promotion and advertising activities have been promoted, with special attention paid to the application of information technology, affirming its pioneering position as the first province to use the Smart Tourism Portal to expand promotion. Along with that, the province has attracted many large-scale investment projects, creating a driving force for sustainable tourism development.

Along with investing in product development and technical facilities, the province pays special attention to renovating and investing in developing the system of scenic tourist roads and roads connecting tourist areas and spots. Linked tourism programs (tours) are organized and implemented... Tourism infrastructure and environment are increasingly upgraded and improved.
