Accordingly, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism recommends that tourism businesses regularly monitor and update storm developments and weather conditions through official forecasts; proactively deploy measures to prevent widespread heavy rain, strong winds, large waves at sea and storm surges; organize inspections and reinforcement of facilities and equipment to ensure safety; develop and implement storm and flood prevention and control plans appropriate to the specific operations of each unit.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism noted that tourism businesses should prepare adequate means, materials, necessities, support tools, and backup communication systems; promptly notify tourists of weather developments, recommend limiting travel to dangerous areas, proactively coordinate with local authorities to relocate and evacuate tourists to safe places when requested; ensure absolute safety for tourists, especially at accommodation facilities, coastal tourist areas, on islands and peninsulas.
Tourist accommodation establishments in coastal and island areas need to review and count the number of guests staying; prepare adequate means, human resources, rescue equipment, and essential goods to serve tourists in case of storms, ensuring maximum safety for guests and workers; organize 24/7 duty before, during, and after the storm passes; assign focal officers to regularly report on the situation of guests staying, the situation of storm response, and arising incidents (if any) to the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism for synthesis, monitoring, and direction.
