Brigade 146, Naval Region 4 said the unit has proactively and synchronously deployed plans to prevent, combat, and respond to Kalmaegi.
According to the island commander, Khanh Hoa province, by the afternoon of November 4, units stationed on the islands urgently reviewed and consolidated disaster prevention and control works; fully stocked up on materials, food, provisions, and fresh water.

At the same time, prepare safe shelters for fishermen, arrange forces on duty 24/7 to support and guide boats to anchor safely when the weather turns bad.

Up to now, more than 300 with over 3,000 fishermen have been guided to take shelter from the storm on islands with ports such as Song Tu Tay, Sinh Ton, Truong Sa, Da Tay islands...
The islands have provided over 20,000 liters of fresh water, many essential supplies and temporary accommodation on the islands for fishermen during the storm. The forces regularly visit, encourage and help people stabilize their spirits, feel secure to take shelter, and together overcome the storm safely.

On the islands, officers, soldiers, and forces are closely coordinating with people to reinforce houses, tie down vehicles, and move people and property to safety.
Units strictly maintain on-duty regime, regularly update and issue notices on weather and storm conditions; at the same time, increase support for fishermen by providing food, fresh water, medical care, ensuring stability in storm conditions that may last for a long time.

Rescue forces and vehicles are always ready to mobilize in emergency situations, not to be passive or surprised.
Along with that, Brigade 146 coordinated with Border Guards on the islands to unify response plans and promptly called on ships to enter safe shelters.
