Bank USD price skyrocketed

The central exchange rate announced by the State Bank today (July 4) is 23,804 VND/USD, down 1 VND compared to yesterday.

With a margin of +/- 5%, the ceiling rate applied by banks today is 24,994 VND/USD and the floor rate is 22,613 VND/USD.

Today, the State Bank of Vietnam maintains the reference buying rate at 23,400 VND/USD. The reference selling rate is 24,944 VND/USD, down 1 VND compared to yesterday.

Meanwhile, the USD/VND exchange rate at many commercial banks today (July 4) increased sharply after a long period of fluctuating within a narrow range. Many banks increased by nearly 100 VND.

Specifically, at noon today (July 4), Vietcombank listed the USD price at 23,470-23,840 VND/USD (buy - sell), an increase of 90 VND in both buying and selling compared to yesterday morning.

Vietinbank traded USD at 23,426 VND/USD (buy) and 23,846 VND/USD (sell) this afternoon, up 96 VND in both directions compared to yesterday morning.

Techcombank bought USD at 23,505 VND this afternoon and sold at 23,850 VND/USD. Compared to yesterday morning, the USD price at Techcombank at noon increased by 97 VND in both directions.

This afternoon, Sacombank listed the USD price at 23,473-23,878 VND/USD (buy - sell), an increase of 90 VND for buying and 92 VND for selling compared to yesterday morning.

This afternoon, Eximbank listed the USD price at 23,440-23,830 VND/USD (buy - sell), an increase of 80 VND for buying and 90 VND for selling compared to yesterday morning.

In the free market, the USD price today is commonly traded around 23,620-23,700 VND/USD (buy - sell). Thus, compared to yesterday, the USD price in the free market today remains the same in the buying direction and decreases by 20 VND in the selling direction.

It can be seen that the USD selling price in the free market is currently much lower than the USD selling price at commercial banks.

In the world market, the USD price increased slightly today in the context of gradually cooling down inflation in the US.

At 12:20 today (July 4, Vietnam time), the US Dollar Index (DXY) - measuring the greenback's fluctuations against 6 major currencies - was at 103.07 points, up 0.08% compared to the previous session.
