A series of large enterprises share their economic development milestones with the Prime Minister

(Dan Tri) - Representatives of PVN, Viettel, Sun Group... talked about the journey of economic development and national development at the meeting with the Prime Minister on August 30.

On the afternoon of August 30, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a meeting with businesses with the theme "80 years of businesses accompanying the country". Representatives of 60 state-owned corporations and groups, 141 private enterprises and 50 FDI enterprises attended the conference.

Mr. Le Manh Hung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Vietnam National Energy and Industry Group (PVN), said that the group has achieved great results and achievements after 50 years with total assets reaching over 1 quadrillion VND and equity capital of over 840,000 billion VND. Total revenue reached 599 billion USD.

Lieutenant General Tao Duc Thang, Chairman and General Director of Viettel, shared that in addition to the fields of telecommunications, high technology, logistics..., up to now, the group has mastered many strategic weapons, completed research and manufactured more than 50 types of high-tech weapons and equipment, serving well the training and combat readiness tasks of many units under the Ministry of National Defense .

From the perspective of a foreign enterprise with a long-term relationship with Vietnam, Mr. Eita Fujikawa, General Director of Sumitomo Corporation Vietnam, shared that since operating in Vietnam in 1990, the group has participated in many important projects such as infrastructure development, power plant development as well as other key industries.

"We want to contribute to helping Vietnam achieve its goal of becoming a developed country by 2045 and carbon neutral by 2050. We will also continue to support the improvement of the lives of Vietnamese people, creating green products that are in line with the development trends of the times," said Mr. Fujikawa, adding that the group is committed to implementing large-scale projects in Vietnam.

Mr. Bruno Jaspaert, General Director of DEEP C Industrial Park Complex, said that he learned a Vietnamese proverb that "if you work hard, you will one day achieve success".

As foreign investors in Vietnam, he said that businesses have received many good opportunities and favorable conditions. “So far, we have attracted about 8 billion USD in FDI. We achieved this figure when working in Vietnam with ministries, departments, branches and the Vietnamese Government,” he said.

Mr. Dang Minh Truong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sun Group, said that this enterprise started in Da Nang, and since 2007 has pioneered in investing in developing tourism business systematically through the tourism ecosystem, with resort and entertainment projects stretching from North to South.

Mr. Tran Kim Chung, Chairman of CT Group, said that he was recently selected by the Indonesian Government as the main partner in developing the ecosystem for the low-altitude space economy and developing Indonesia's UAV industry, serving many fields such as energy industry, agriculture, forestry, etc. and the signing ceremony was held in Jakarta.

For the first time, a Vietnamese private enterprise has been selected by a G20 country as the main partner for a high-tech field, which is low-altitude space economy and UAVs.

Recommend businesses to continue to innovate thinking and expand markets

Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the historical significance of the event in the atmosphere of celebrating the August Revolution, National Day September 2 and looking forward to Vietnam Entrepreneurs Day. The Prime Minister gave a message of orientation for the business community in the new period.

Accordingly, the business community always accompanies the nation in all circumstances, from wartime to peacetime, making an important contribution to mobilizing resources for resistance and national construction as well as pioneering in economic development and social security.

After nearly 40 years of Doi Moi, the number of enterprises has increased sharply to nearly 1 million, of which 98% are private. The Prime Minister asked enterprises to continue to innovate their thinking, expand markets, unleash resources, and engage in public-private cooperation to develop an independent, self-reliant economy and integrate deeply into the world.

The Prime Minister said that the Party and State always pay special attention to creating a favorable environment for businesses to develop sustainably.

Entering a new era, the business community and entrepreneurs need to promote the glorious 80-year tradition, continue to innovate and create, and aspire to rise strongly to join the country in successfully implementing the two 100-year strategic goals set by the 13th National Party Congress, towards a rich and prosperous Vietnam, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world powers.
