According to Khaosod, the Thai U22 team received an additional 300,000 baht (approximately 250 million VND) in prize money from the President of the Football Association of Thailand (FAT), Ms. Pang Nualphan Lamsam (Madam Pang), following their impressive victory against Singapore U22 at the 33rd SEA Games on the evening of December 11th. This bonus brings the total prize money received by the Thai youth team at the tournament to 800,000 baht (approximately 665 million VND).

A 3-0 victory against U22 Singapore helped U22 Thailand finish the group stage with a perfect 6 points after two matches, firmly securing the top spot in Group A. This result guarantees Thailand a place in the semi-finals, where they will face the runner-up of Group B or C.
Previously, the Thai national team received 500,000 baht (approximately 415 million VND) in prize money after their resounding 6-1 victory against Timor-Leste in their opening match. With the newly announced additional bonus, the total amount of prize money that Madam Pang has given to the team has reached 800,000 baht, demonstrating strong encouragement from the FAT leadership for the team's achievement.
Speaking about the victory against U22 Singapore, coach Wang Thawatchai Damrong-ongtrakul admitted that the first half of the U22 Thailand team was slow due to excessive rotation of players, causing difficulties for the team before overcoming Singapore. In the second half, U22 Thailand played much better and scored three goals to win 3-0.
Coach Thawatchai said that making six substitutions made the team lack cohesion, especially in the first half when the ability to move the ball from the back to the attack was ineffective. He praised Singapore for causing many difficulties for the team.

According to the coach, the adjustments in attack in the second half helped the U22 Thailand team control the game better and create more opportunities. He also emphasized that motivating the players was crucial to encourage them to play more aggressively after a fairly balanced first 45 minutes.
Thawatchai stated that the overlapping schedule with the Thai League posed personnel challenges for the team, as several key players had to return to their clubs. He affirmed that the coaching staff would assess each player's condition before the semi-finals and emphasized that the challenges ahead "will certainly not be easy."
"Once we reach the semi-finals, every team is strong. We can't underestimate anyone. Even though we've already beaten Timor-Leste and Singapore, this match shows that things won't be easy," he concluded.
