Regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province and Vietnam Rice, the current prices for export-grade raw rice are as follows: OM 5451 rice ranges from 8,150 to 8,300 VND/kg; Soc Thom rice ranges from 7,500 to 7,600 VND/kg; IR 504 rice ranges from 7,550 to 7,650 VND/kg; CL 555 rice ranges from 7,340 to 7,450 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice ranges from 8,700 to 8,900 VND/kg; OM 380 rice ranges from 7,200 to 7,300 VND/kg; and OM 18 rice ranges from 8,500 to 8,600 VND/kg. Finished IR 504 rice prices fluctuated between 9,500 and 9,700 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Regarding by-products, prices range from approximately 7,400 to 10,000 VND/kg. Currently, OM 5451 broken rice is priced at 7,400 - 7,500 VND/kg; and rice bran is priced at 9,000 - 10,000 VND/kg, compared to yesterday.
Observations in various localities today show slow trading activity and little fluctuation in rice prices. In An Giang , rice supplies are low, trading is weak, and rice prices remain stable.
In Lap Vo and Sa Dec ( Dong Thap province ), the supply is low, and the prices of various types of rice are relatively stable. In An Cu, Dong Thap province, trading is sluggish, and rice prices are relatively stable.
At retail markets, the prices of various types of rice remained unchanged compared to yesterday. Currently, Nang Nhen rice is listed highest at 28,000 VND/kg; regular rice ranges from 11,000 - 12,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice is 22,000 VND/kg; long-grain Thai fragrant rice ranges from 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice is at 21,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice is 20,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice ranges from 16,000 - 18,000 VND/kg; common white rice is at 16,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice ranges from 16,000 - 17,000 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice is 20,000 VND/kg; and Japanese rice is 22,000 VND/kg.
Similarly, regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the current price of IR 50404 rice (fresh) fluctuates between 5,200 - 5,400 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice (fresh) fluctuates between 5,500 - 5,600 VND/kg; OM 34 rice (fresh) fluctuates between 5,200 - 5,400 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) fluctuates between 6,400 - 6,600 VND/kg; and OM 18 rice (fresh) fluctuates between 6,400 - 6,600 VND/kg; compared to yesterday.
Observations in many localities today indicate that remaining supply is low, trading is sluggish, and prices remain stable. In An Giang, farmers are maintaining high prices, buyers tend to offer lower prices, and new transactions are few.
In Tay Ninh, demand for rice has slowed down, mainly with traders already having contracts, resulting in slow transactions. In Ca Mau, ST rice continues to be offered in good quantities, mainly ST 25, with little price fluctuation. In Can Tho, Dong Thap, and Vinh Long, buying and selling transactions are slow, and prices remain relatively stable.
According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), on the export market, the price of Vietnamese rice for export is currently fluctuating between 420-440 USD/ton for 5% broken fragrant rice; 314-318 USD/ton for 100% broken rice; and 447-451 USD/ton for Jasmine rice.
