Rice price today December 9: Fresh rice increases, rice price remains stable

Regarding rice, according to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, the price of IR 50404 rice (fresh) increased by 100 VND/kg, fluctuating at 5,200 - 5,400 VND/kg; the price of OM 5451 rice (fresh) increased by 100 VND/kg, fluctuating at 5,500 - 5,600 VND/kg; the price of OM 34 rice (fresh) fluctuated at 5,200 - 5,400 VND/kg; the price of Dai Thom 8 rice (fresh) fluctuated at 6,400 - 6,600 VND/kg; the price of fresh OM 18 rice fluctuated at 6,400 - 6,600 VND/kg; compared to yesterday.

In many localities today, supply is low, trading is slow, prices fluctuate slightly. In An Giang , farmers keep prices high, new transactions are weak, prices increase slightly.

In Ca Mau , ST rice has a stable demand compared to shrimp rice, high prices, and low supply. In Dong Thap, new transactions are few, prices are relatively stable. In Can Tho, Vinh Long, and Tay Ninh, the remaining harvested rice is small, and prices fluctuate little.

Regarding rice, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province and Vietnamese Rice, currently OM 5451 raw rice for export fluctuates at 8,200 - 8,300 VND/kg; Soc Det raw rice for export fluctuates at 7,300 - 7,450; IR 504 raw rice for export fluctuates at 7,550 - 7,650 VND/kg; CL 555 raw rice for export fluctuates at 7,340 - 7,450 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice fluctuates at 8,700 - 8,900 VND/kg; OM 380 raw rice for export fluctuates at 7,200 - 7,300 VND/kg; OM 18 raw rice for export fluctuates at 8,500 - 8,600 VND/kg; IR 504 finished rice fluctuates at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg.

Regarding by-products, the prices of by-products fluctuate from 7,400 - 10,000 VND/kg. Currently, OM 5451 broken rice fluctuates at 7,400 - 7,500 VND/kg; bran prices fluctuate at 9,000 - 10,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

Recorded in localities today, buying and selling transactions are quiet, prices of all types of rice fluctuate little. In Can Tho, warehouses are still asking to buy fragrant and sticky rice, prices are stable. In An Giang, most large warehouses are buying slowly, choosing rice with OM 5451, OM 18, prices of all types of rice fluctuate little.

In Lap Vo, Sa Dec (Dong Thap), the quantity of imported rice is small, all kinds of rice are stable. In An Cu - Dong Thap, there are few purchases, rice prices are relatively stable.

At retail markets, Nang Nhen rice currently has the highest listed price of VND28,000/kg; regular rice fluctuates at VND11,000 - 12,000/kg; Huong Lai rice at VND22,000/kg; long-grain fragrant rice fluctuates at VND20,000 - 22,000/kg; Nang Hoa rice at VND21,000/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice at VND20,000/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice fluctuates at VND16,000 - 18,000/kg; common white rice at VND16,000/kg; Soc regular rice fluctuates at VND16,000 - 17,000/kg; Soc Thai rice at VND20,000/kg; Japanese rice at VND22,000/kg.

In the export market, Vietnam's rice export price remained unchanged compared to yesterday.

According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the current price of 5% broken fragrant rice ranges from 420 - 440 USD/ton; 100% broken rice ranges from 314 - 318 USD/ton; and Jasmine rice ranges from 447 - 451 USD/ton.
