Opening the trading session on the morning of May 29, domestic gold prices dropped sharply by 1.5 million VND/tael, while exchange rates at commercial banks increased sharply by 55-60 VND.
At 9:00 a.m., the price of SJC gold bars at Saigon Jewelry Company and Doji were listed at 114.7-117.2 million VND/tael, down 1.5 million VND/tael.
At Phu Quy Company, SJC gold price was announced at 113.7-117.2 million VND/tael, also down 1.5 million VND compared to the previous closing price.
In the same direction, the price of gold rings at Bao Tin Minh Chau Company was listed at 112.3-115.5 million VND/tael (buy/sell), down 1.5 million VND/tael.
The price of Phu Quy Company's plain round gold rings also decreased by 1 million VND per tael, currently trading from 110.5-113.5 million VND/tael.
In the world, the price of gold this morning reversed and decreased sharply, trading at 3,263 USD/ounce, down 44 USD compared to the same time last session. This price is equivalent to 103 million VND/tael when converted according to the USD exchange rate at Vietcombank , about 14 million VND/tael lower than the domestic price.
This morning, the State Bank listed the central exchange rate at 25,962 VND/USD, up 15 VND compared to the previous session. With a margin of +/-5%, Vietcombank traded from 25,810-26,200 VND/USD (buy/sell), up 60 VND compared to the previous session's close.
Similarly, BIDV Bank also adjusted the exchange rate up by 55 VND, currently trading at 25,840-26,200 VND/USD. VietinBank announced the USD exchange rate at 25,845-26,205 VND/USD, up 56 VND.
Eximbank increased by 5 VND, currently trading from 25,790-26,190 VND/USD (buy/sell)./.
