On the morning of July 10, gasoline prices increased slightly, Brent oil increased by 4 cents, equivalent to 0.06%, to 70.19 USD/barrel; WTI oil increased by 5 cents, to 68.38 USD/barrel.
Crude inventories unexpectedly rose to 7.1 million barrels, versus a Reuters poll forecast for a 2.1 million-barrel decline, supporting oil prices, according to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA). However, gasoline and distillate inventories both fell, reflecting strong demand; US gasoline consumption rose to 9.2 million barrels per day last week.
According to analysis, data so far shows that fuel demand continues to increase and shows no signs of slowing down. In addition, the Red Sea region, after a period of calm, is now witnessing escalating tensions with new attacks on cargo ships.

A senior executive of Saudi Arabian Oil Corporation recently said that global oil demand is expected to increase by 1.2 - 1.3 million barrels per day in the second half of this year, despite risks from trade tensions and new US tariffs. Therefore, according to Reuters, OPEC+ is also planning to increase production sharply from September after agreeing to increase production by 548,000 barrels per day from August.
Domestically, this afternoon (July 10), the Ministry of Finance - Ministry of Industry and Trade will adjust domestic retail gasoline prices. It is forecasted that the prices of gasoline products will increase slightly, except for fuel oil. Specifically, according to estimates from key enterprises, gasoline prices may increase by less than 200 VND/liter, while oil prices will increase by a higher level, around 300 VND/liter; fuel oil alone may decrease by about 200 VND/kg.
Previously, the Vietnam Petroleum Institute forecast that the retail price of gasoline in this afternoon's adjustment period would increase the most, with gasoline increasing by about VND120/liter; diesel prices could increase by VND423/liter, kerosene by VND218/liter, and fuel oil by a slight decrease. The forecast also showed that the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade will continue not to use/draw from the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund in this adjustment period.
Thus, since the beginning of the year, domestic gasoline prices have had 27 adjustment sessions, of which 10 decreased, 11 increased and 6 opposite sessions./.
