World oil prices today August 20
Crude oil prices fell on Tuesday as investors looked ahead to a possible deal between Russia, Ukraine and the United States to end the conflict, which could boost global supplies as some sanctions are lifted.
According to Oilprice at 4:30 a.m. (Vietnam time), Brent oil fell to $65.96/barrel, down 0.99%. WTI oil also fell 1.29% to $62.63/barrel. Some experts predict that if the peace process is maintained, oil prices may gradually fall to around $58/barrel in the fourth quarter of 2025.
International developments
US President Donald Trump has spoken directly to Russian President Vladimir Putin and is arranging for the leaders of Russia and Ukraine to meet, Reuters reported, raising hopes for a trilateral summit. In addition, the US's softer stance on secondary sanctions has also helped ease concerns about supply disruptions.
Domestic gasoline prices today August 20
From 3:00 p.m. on August 15, the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance adjusted the retail price of gasoline down. Specifically, E5 RON 92 gasoline decreased by 254 VND, to 19,354 VND/liter; RON 95 gasoline decreased by 190 VND, to 19,884 VND/liter. Diesel oil decreased by 723 VND, to 18,077 VND/liter; kerosene decreased by 640 VND, to 18,020 VND/liter; fuel oil decreased by 379 VND, to 15,268 VND/kg.
