Meeting to Celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Finance Industry

At the meeting, comrade Le Tuan Anh - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Director of the Department of Finance presented a commemorative speech. Accordingly, the August Revolution of 1945 was successful, along with the birth of the "Democratic Republic of Vietnam", on August 28, 1945, the financial apparatus was established with the function and task of mobilizing all resources to maintain the State apparatus, serving production, fighting, and defending the Fatherland. August 28, 1945 was a milestone marking the birth of the Vietnamese revolutionary finance sector and became an annual traditional day. After 80 years of construction and development, the Vietnamese finance sector has gradually developed in all aspects.

Along with the growth and development of the national finance sector, Lai Chau finance sector has grown and developed continuously since its establishment (January 1963). Especially since 2004, implementing Resolution No. 22/2013/QH of the National Assembly, Lai Chau province was newly established, the finance sector has closely coordinated with departments, branches and Party committees and authorities at all levels to proactively advise, propose and synchronously implement many solutions, contributing to the successful implementation of the State budget and finance tasks.

From July 1, 2025, implementing the Resolution and Decision of the Central and the province on merging administrative units, after the merger, Lai Chau Department of Finance (including the Department of Finance and the Department of Planning and Investment) has important changes in organizational structure, functions and tasks. The Party Committee and the collective leadership of the Department have innovated the direction, operation, methods and working style with the spirit of "Solidarity, friendliness, openness, construction, and support" to create unity in perception and action.

In recognition of the great contributions of Lai Chau Finance sector in recent years, many collectives and individuals have been awarded many noble prizes by the President , Prime Minister, Central ministries, branches and Provincial People's Committee.

Comrade Le Van Luong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee spoke at the meeting.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, speaking at the meeting, comrade Le Van Luong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and commended the efforts and achievements of the Lai Chau Finance sector over the past period. He suggested that in the coming time, the Finance sector focus on advising the Provincial People's Committee to allocate funds to resolve policies and regimes for cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers in the process of restructuring the system's apparatus, ensuring completion before August 31, 2025. Coordinate with relevant agencies and units to study and advise the Provincial People's Committee to review, select and arrange qualified provincial-level cadres to work at the commune level, especially cadastral and financial cadres. Continue to closely follow the work program and socio -economic development plan of the province, advise local Party committees and authorities on appropriate policies and mechanisms to mobilize resources for development investment and effectively manage and exploit local revenue sources, ensuring sustainable and continuously developing local budget balance. Complete the mechanism of decentralization and budget management in accordance with the 2-level model. Improve the efficiency of budget use and public expenditure management. Comrade Vu Manh Ha - Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee presented the Flag of the Ministry of Finance to the Lai Chau Department of Finance.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Finance awarded the Emulation Flag to Lai Chau Department of Finance for its outstanding achievements in the 2024 Emulation Movement of the Finance Sector and presented Commemorative Medals to 8 individuals; the Chairman of Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 2 collectives and 8 individuals with outstanding achievements in the Emulation Movement to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the establishment of the Finance Sector.
