In July, Vietnam's exports to Singapore increased by 58.1%

According to the Vietnam Trade Office in Singapore, in July 2025, Singapore's total import and export turnover with Vietnam reached 3.6 billion SGD, an increase of 14.6% over the same period in 2024.

Of which, Singapore's exports to Vietnam reached 2.4 billion SGD, almost unchanged; imports from Vietnam to Singapore reached 1.2 billion SGD, up 58.1%.

In Singapore's merchandise exports, the export value of domestically produced products to Vietnam reached 708.1 million SGD, up 20.3%; the temporary import and re-export (transit) value to Vietnam reached 1.7 billion SGD, down 5.9%.

Accumulated after 7 months of 2025, Vietnam continues to maintain its position as Singapore's 10th largest trading partner, with bilateral trade turnover reaching a total of 23.1 billion SGD, up 26.1% over the same period in 2024. Of which, exports to Vietnam reached 16.3 billion SGD, up 20.2%; imports from Vietnam reached 6.7 billion SGD, up 43%; trade surplus with Vietnam was 9.6 billion SGD, up 8.2% over the same period in 2024.

In the past 7 months, the export value of domestically produced products from Singapore to Vietnam reached nearly 4.6 billion SGD, up 14.4%; the value of temporary imports for re-export (transit) to Vietnam reached 11.7 billion SGD, up 22.7%.

If only counting goods of Vietnamese origin, in the first 7 months of 2025, Vietnam exported 2.12 billion SGD to Singapore.

Electrical machinery and equipment and parts (HS 85), fuels, petroleum oils and their distillates; bituminous substances; mineral waxes (HS 27) continue to be major export commodity groups from Singapore to Vietnam.

The total export value of these two groups reached SGD 9.5 billion, accounting for 68.3% of Singapore's total export value to Vietnam in the first 7 months of 2025.

In addition, among Singapore's top 15 main export groups to Vietnam, exports of nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical equipment and parts (HS 84) reached 1.2 billion SGD, up 48.8%; plastics and plastic products (HS 39) reached 613.6 million SGD, almost unchanged; essential oils, perfumes, cosmetics or cleaning products (HS 33) reached 344.6 million SGD, down 11.6%.

In the past 7 months, electrical machinery and equipment and parts (HS 85) continued to be the group of goods with the highest value that Singapore imported from Vietnam, reaching 3.4 billion SGD, up 88.5% over the same period in 2024 and accounting for 50.5% of Singapore's total import value from Vietnam.

This was followed by nuclear reactors, boilers, machinery and mechanical appliances and parts (HS 84), reaching SGD 1.5 billion, up 85.6%; and glass and glass products (HS 70), reaching SGD 494.3 million, up 11.8%.

In addition, the remaining groups in the top 15 main import groups of Singapore from Vietnam mostly recorded negative growth compared to the same period in 2024.

According to Mr. Cao Xuan Thang, Vietnam's Trade Counselor in Singapore, the fact that a large part of Singapore-Vietnam bilateral trade focuses on technology and fuel groups continues to reflect the unique exchange structure of the two economies .

This is a platform for the business community to exploit new cooperation opportunities from regional business investment trends that both sides are interested in, such as linking production-supply chains, developing new trade platforms and logistics.
