Based on the management of the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance, businesses simultaneously adjusted gasoline prices from 3:00 p.m. today.

Accordingly, compared to the previous adjustment period, the price of E5 gasoline was adjusted up by 50 VND/liter, the selling price was 18,940 VND/liter. The price of RON 95 gasoline increased by 130 VND/liter, the selling price was 19,760 VND/liter.

Meanwhile, diesel price was adjusted down by 120 VND/liter, selling price is 17,040 VND/liter.

Currently, the petroleum price stabilization fund of some key enterprises has recorded a large positive level because in many recent management periods, the fund has not been used.

As of September 18, Petrolimex recorded a positive fund balance of VND 3,079 billion, Petimex a positive balance of VND 460 billion, Saigon Petro a positive balance of VND 328 billion while PV Oil had a negative balance of more than VND 138 billion...

Regarding the petroleum market, on September 18, at a meeting on the implementation of total petroleum sources and solutions to ensure petroleum supply at the end of the year, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Hien - Deputy Director of the Domestic Market Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), said that the total production and import of petroleum in the first 8 months of 2024 reached about 19.6 million m3/ton of all types.

In the past 8 months, the whole country consumed about 18 million m3/ton of gasoline, up 4% over the same period last year. Inventory is about 1.95 million m3/ton, equivalent to the first 8 months of 2023.

At the meeting, a number of key petroleum traders proposed to adjust down the total amount of petroleum allocated for the whole year 2024.

However, Mr. Phan Van Chinh, Director of the Domestic Market Department, commented that from now until the end of the year, the petroleum market situation will still be complicated. In addition, the weather situation is also unpredictable, storms and floods may occur. Therefore, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will carefully consider the issue of requesting a reduction in the total allocated resources of enterprises.
