Gasoline prices have risen again, with RON 95 now exceeding 19,700 VND/liter.

Based on the directives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance, businesses will simultaneously adjust gasoline and diesel prices starting at 3 PM today.

Accordingly, compared to the previous price adjustment, the price of E5 gasoline has been increased by 50 VND/liter, reaching 18,940 VND/liter. The price of RON 95 gasoline has increased by 130 VND/liter, reaching 19,760 VND/liter.

Meanwhile, the price of diesel fuel was adjusted down by 120 VND/liter, bringing the selling price to 17,040 VND/liter.

Currently, the fuel price stabilization fund of some key enterprises has a large positive balance because the fund has not been used in many recent price adjustment periods.

As of September 18th, Petrolimex recorded a positive fund balance of VND 3,079 billion, Petimex a positive balance of VND 460 billion, Saigon Petro a positive balance of VND 328 billion, while PV Oil had a negative fund balance of over VND 138 billion...

Regarding the petroleum market, on September 18th, at a meeting on the overall petroleum supply situation and solutions to ensure petroleum supply at the end of the year, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Hien - Deputy Director of the Domestic Market Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), stated that the total production and import of petroleum in the first eight months of 2024 reached approximately 19.6 million cubic meters/tons of various types.

Over the past eight months, the country consumed approximately 18 million cubic meters/tons of petroleum products, a 4% increase compared to the same period last year. Inventory stands at around 1.95 million cubic meters/tons, equivalent to the first eight months of 2023.

At the meeting, several key petroleum traders proposed adjusting down the total amount of petroleum supplies allocated for the entire year of 2024.

However, Mr. Phan Van Chinh, Director of the Domestic Market Department, noted that the petroleum market situation will remain complex from now until the end of the year. Furthermore, weather conditions are unpredictable, and storms and floods may occur. Therefore, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will carefully consider the request to adjust and reduce the total allocated supply for enterprises.
