From 2022 to present, VPF has gradually improved its image, scale, reputation and influence with the number of regions increasing from 3 to 5. Along with that, the tournament also recorded an increase in the number of spectators with more than 200,000 spectators at the stadium and more than 45 million live views on the platforms. Mr. Pham Ngoc Tuan - General Director of Vietnam Football Joint Stock Company, Head of the tournament's Organizing Committee spoke at the ceremony.

Mr. Nguyen Van Phu, General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation, emphasized that after 12 years of formation and development, 7-a-side football has become a specialty not only in Vietnam, but also received support from international friends.

"In 2024, we achieved the attention and following of 45 million people on the platforms, this number will surpass in 2025 when the tournament is held in 8 hosting regions with the participation of 60 teams and nearly 250 matches. I would like to send my best wishes for the success of the tournament, wishing the tournament to make an impression and achieve outstanding success" - Mr. Nguyen Van Phu said.

It is expected that a total of 60 teams will compete in 248 matches, an increase of nearly 100 matches compared to the 2024 season. This is a clear demonstration of the development and professionalization of the tournament system over time, affirming the position of the largest 7-a-side football tournament ever, receiving the support of the organization policy from the Vietnam Sports Administration (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism).

In particular, this year's tournament marks the first time a special showmatch has been held, where the best faces of the 7-a-side tournament have the opportunity to compete alongside professional football stars, national and former Vietnamese players, thereby inspiring and fueling the passion of the younger generation. This will be one of the important activities to help VPL promote its role as a meaningful spiritual food for football fans and, moreover, a festival with widespread influence.

With the slogan “Football for the community”, VPL-S6 continues to spread the spirit of sports, arouse passion for football and promote an active lifestyle in the community. At the same time, this is also a practical activity in response to the “ World Football Week” launched by FIFA and the United Nations (May 21-25, 2025) with the theme “Together, We Are Stronger”, thereby affirming the role of football in connecting communities, overcoming cultural, linguistic and national boundaries.
