Although not officially taking place yet, right from the time of announcement, the Ninh Binh Heritage Half Marathon 2025 has attracted special attention from the community. Not only because of the beautiful running route in the heart of Trang An Heritage, where mountains, rivers and culture blend together, but also because of the profound humanitarian meaning of this year's event: all expenses collected from the Race will be transferred to the program "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" in Ninh Binh province, a practical action to share with those in difficult circumstances, spreading the spirit of "no one is left behind" in the development of the homeland and the country. Combining sports with social responsibility, the Race is becoming a journey of spreading love, where the community spirit is awakened from silent but profound sharing actions.
More than 3,500 athletes participating in this year's race will choose the distances of 3km, 5km, 10km and 21km half marathon, but each step is not only a physical challenge but also a volunteer act. With the motto "The more people run, the more homes are built", the race has created a new, effective and widespread way to connect sports with the community. In Hoa Lu city, new houses are gradually being completed, marking the effectiveness of that connection.
The case of Mrs. Bui Thi Giap, a single-parent household in Ninh Giang ward, is a touching example. For many years, Mrs. Giap has lived in a dilapidated level 4 house, her biggest concern during each rainy season is not how much it rains but how much the roof leaks. Now, her new house is about to be completed thanks to the joint efforts of local authorities, philanthropists and especially Mr. Le Minh Tho, Director of Trang An Ninh Binh Company Limited, the organizer of this year's race. Not only supporting Mrs. Giap, Mr. Tho has also devoted all his heart over the years to the program "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" with concrete actions: supporting 1.5 billion VND to build and repair 25 houses for poor households, including 20 newly built houses and 5 repaired houses. To date, 21 houses have been completed and handed over, each house is a support, bringing hope and confidence to poor households.
Not only contributing to creating a race with humanitarian meaning, Mr. Le Minh Tho is also the founder of the Art for Humanity Club, a place where disabled young people come to learn how to make figurines, bamboo flutes, calligraphy, etc. and gradually become independent. From those quiet actions, a volunteer ecosystem is being formed in Ninh Binh, where every citizen can become a "humanitarian athlete", whether on the race track or in daily life. Therefore, the Ninh Binh Heritage Half Marathon not only has a pure sporting value, but is also a place to connect people's hearts, awaken love and inspire the spirit of dedication.
This year's event is also symbolic of a Ninh Binh that is transforming strongly: from a heritage land to a green, friendly and affectionate tourist center. According to Mr. Vu Hong Minh, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports, the Run is expected to become an annual branded tourism and sports product, contributing to enhancing the attractiveness of Ninh Binh on the Vietnamese and international tourism map. From there, it will contribute to bringing the province closer to the strategic goal of becoming a millennium heritage city.
In each upcoming step on the Trang An heritage roads, we will not only see the sports spirit spread but also see the seeds of kindness sown. These are steps that do not leave traces on the ground, but leave an impression in people's hearts. It is a journey that is not measured by time or achievements, but by the roofs built, the smiles on the lips of people who once lived in poverty and misfortune. And that is the most beautiful destination of the Race called "Running in the heart of heritage", where sports, heritage and humanity meet in a meaningful and humane journey.
