Vo Huu Ngoc: The young man wrote vọng cổ for his mother

Besides "The roof of the sea village" by Viet Tuong, the performance "Dem Ganh Hao nghe dieu Hoai Lang" by contestant Vo Huu Ngoc is a performance with the melodious sound of Southern folk songs combined with Cai Luong. Huu Ngoc touched the hearts of listeners with a meaningful personal story: this performance is a gift he wants to send to his mother, the person who lulled him to sleep with the Western folk songs.

In particular, the vọng cổ part of the performance was composed and performed by Hữu Ngọc himself, demonstrating the creative talent of the male contestant. Singer Dương Hồng Loan assessed that Ngọc’s performance was full of emotions, “touching” the hearts of the listeners. However, she said that the male contestant needed to practice more on rhythm and handling the lyrics because he was still a bit “immature” in some parts. Based on her many years of singing experience, she said that this is a difficult song and requires careful practice to be able to sing it fully.
