At the age of 17, Le Chuc An has become a familiar name to golf fans across the country. Two consecutive years of winning the most prestigious tournament in the country has helped the young girl to be expected to continue writing a new chapter in Vietnamese history.

Looking back at last year’s tournament, fans certainly haven’t forgotten the dramatic three-horse race between Le Chuc An, Nguyen Viet Gia Han and Ngo Vinh Hoa. Throughout the four days of competition, the three maintained a close chase, causing the scoreboard to constantly change.

Although Gia Han and Vinh Hoa performed consistently and stayed close to the top, it was not enough to overcome Chuc An, who was in top form in the final round. In the end, she successfully defended her championship with a total score of +1, 2 strokes more than Gia Han and 3 strokes more than Vinh Hoa.

“It was one of the most memorable tournaments for me. I learned a lot about how to control my mentality, despite being chased and pressured by the scoreboard," Le Chuc An recalled.

Entering this year's season, Chuc An admitted that she felt the heat of the championship race, but her approach remained unchanged:

“Defending the title is a big goal, but I don't consider it a pressure. In any tournament, I learn to enjoy each round, try to play to my ability and not pay too much attention to the scoreboard. If I do well, the results will come naturally," Chuc An shared with Tien Phong.

At the 2025 Gia Lai National Golf Championship, Chuc An will have to face a series of potential opponents. Among them, Nguyen Viet Gia Han, who finished second last year, is considered to have made great strides in terms of physical strength and tactics.

“I don’t think too much about the record. My goal is still to focus on each round. But if that happens, it will be the result of a long process of my efforts,” Chuc An affirmed.

Before Le Chuc An, Nguyen Thao My was the female golfer with the most National titles with three crowns (2014, 2015 and 2019). However, those victories were not consecutive. Therefore, if she wins the title in Gia Lai this year, Chuc An will become the first golfer to dominate the National Golf Championship three times in a row, an unprecedented record.
