(Haiphong.gov.vn) - On the morning of March 15, the Department of Culture and Sports coordinated with Hai Phong Newspaper and An Duong District People's Committee to hold a press conference to deploy the organization of the 31st Hai Phong Newspaper Cup Freestyle Wrestling - National Wrestling Championship (expanded) in 2024. Comrades: Pham Thi To Trang, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports; Nguyen Ngoc Anh, Editor-in-Chief of Hai Phong Newspaper; Luong The Quy, Permanent Vice Chairman of An Duong District People's Committee co-chaired the meeting.

According to information from the Organizing Committee, the 31st Hai Phong Newspaper Cup Freestyle - Traditional Wrestling Championship (Open) will take place on March 23 and 24, 2024 at the Stadium of the Cultural - Information and Sports Center of An Duong District. Currently, there are 10 qualified units registered to participate in the tournament with 200 athletes.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports Pham Thi To Trang emphasized: The 31st Hai Phong Newspaper Cup Freestyle Wrestling - National Wrestling Championship (expanded) contributes to discovering, selecting and supplementing the athletes to compete in domestic and international tournaments; promoting the movement of practicing Wrestling, especially National Wrestling among the people. Through the tournament, it aims to evaluate the training of athletes at the grassroots level and the level of organization, as well as the refereeing work of Wrestling in the city.
