Monitoring the implementation of the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction in Muong Cha District

Comrade Le Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, Head of the monitoring delegation, presented gifts to households participating in the green pumpkin growing model in Pung Giat village, Muong Muon commune.

In the period of 2021 - 2023, the total capital allocated and mobilized to implement the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction in Muong Cha district is over 165 billion VND. The total disbursed capital up to November 30, 2023 is over 58 billion VND. Based on the funding source allocated from above and the district's counterpart fund, Muong Cha implements 11 sub-projects under 7 projects of the Program. Specific targets and main indicators are focused on implementation. The target of reducing poor and near-poor households meets the target assigned by the province. 100% of officials working on poverty reduction have their capacity improved. The rate of poor households according to the district's multidimensional poverty standard in the period of 2021 - 2025 decreases by an average of 5.51%/year, achieving the target assigned by all levels.

The monitoring delegation of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs inspected the actual traffic project from National Highway 12 to Pu Cha village, Muong Muon commune.

In addition to the achieved results, Muong Cha district still has some difficulties in implementing the Program such as: Some communes and communities have not proactively researched, proposed, and selected projects and models for diversifying livelihoods, developing poverty reduction models and supporting production development; the arrangement of staff to monitor poverty reduction in some communes has not received attention.

Muong Cha District requests competent authorities to promptly allocate medium-term and annual capital right from the beginning of the period and the beginning of the year so that the grassroots level has time to effectively implement project activities. Consider and assign tasks to preside over and organize the implementation of projects, sub-projects, and activities of the Program in accordance with the functions, authority, and expertise of each sector and field.
