DTO - On the morning of May 10, at the Studio Art Space (Dong Thap Radio and Television Station), the Provincial Literature and Arts Association organized an exchange program to introduce the poetry collection "Bending down to pick up fallen rice grains" by author Nguyen Thi Kim Tuyen - Member of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association. Attending the program were Colonel, writer Nguyen Binh Phuong - Vice President of the Vietnam Writers Association, Editor-in-Chief of the Army Literature and Arts Magazine; representatives of provincial departments, branches and sectors; authors, writers and poets from Ho Chi Minh City and provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region.

“Bending Down to Pick Up Fallen Rice Grains” is the first collection of poems by author Nguyen Thi Kim Tuyen, which was approved for publication by Literature Publishing House in February 2025. The 116-page collection includes 39 poems composed by the author over many years, recording “slices” of daily life through the lens of gratitude, reminiscence and deep feelings about family, homeland, love for soldiers...
Some outstanding poems introduced in the program include: "Bending down to pick up the fallen rice grains", "Writing a will for father", "Soldiers at Tam Nong border cemetery" or "A request of a one-legged teacher". With simple, sincere but emotional verses, the collection of poems touched the hearts and sympathy of readers. Besides exchanging and introducing authors and works, at the program, delegates enjoyed many vọng cổ performances adapted from the poems of author Nguyen Thi Kim Tuyen, contributing to bringing a deep and emotional space of the art of poetry - ancient harmony.

Author Ho Van - Member of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association said, "Bending down to pick up the fallen rice grains" with a poetic voice imbued with Southern culture, Nguyen Thi Kim Tuyen has contributed a quiet but deep voice to the culture of Dong Thap land - where "the land knows how to speak", "the rice knows how to listen" and people know how to bend down to keep the sentiment. Author Nguyen Duc Phu Tho - An Giang Provincial Literature and Arts Association, commented: "Standing in the role of a reader, feeling the poetry collection is a contemplative narrative line. There are also poems that the author writes freely, full of endless emotions... expressing deep feelings for the homeland, for loved ones in the family. The use of simple, rustic words creates closeness so that readers can easily feel and receive each poem, stanza, and verse in the entire collection".
