Notably, statistics also show that 40,000 public school teachers will have left their jobs before the retirement age in 2022, equivalent to nearly 1/10 of the teaching force. According to The Guardian , teachers' unions in England "blame" poor working conditions and long-term pay declines as the main causes of record-high absenteeism among teachers.
On this issue, Mr. Jack Worth, a member of the British Educational Research Organization, proposed that the education sector needs to have policies to help reduce teachers' workload and pay more competitive salaries.
Currently, the average salary for a public school teacher in the UK is £40,300 (VND1.2 billion) per year. This level for leaders is £56,000 (VND1.6 billion) and for principals is £70,800 (VND2.1 billion).

"We have many supports to attract new interns to teach priority subjects (including math, physics, chemistry, computer science - PV), at the same time focusing on supporting new teachers at the beginning of their careers," Ms. Keegan shared.
