Enhancing the role of the school
The theatrical propaganda program, implemented by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, aims to realize Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW of the Politburo on the development of Vietnamese culture. Accordingly, the Department will organize 20 theatrical programs at junior and senior high schools in Ho Chi Minh City, especially those in remote and disadvantaged areas. The programs will focus on themes related to building a civilized lifestyle and promoting cultured communication and behavior within the community. This will contribute to raising awareness and a sense of responsibility among officials, civil servants, employees, teachers, students, and the general public in building a cultural life.
Through various art forms such as singing, dancing, music, and drama with lively content and presentation suitable for students, the theatrical propaganda program reflects common behaviors in schools, residential areas, and public places; maintaining order and environmental hygiene; guiding positive lifestyles, healthy cultural norms, civilized living habits, and communication and behavior in the community… From there, it promotes the role of schools, families, and the community in building a civilized, modern, and compassionate Ho Chi Minh City. Besides the performances, the program also includes interactive activities, entertainment, and question-and-answer games to create direct interaction with students. The content of the games and questions revolves around topics related to culture and sports ; regulations on practicing civilized living habits in the community; and communication and behavior in schools, families, and public places.
Promoting a civilized way of life.
Recently, the first performance of the theatrical propaganda program was held at Nguyen Hue Secondary School (Hoa Binh Ward). Students, teachers, and parents enjoyed singing and dancing performances such as: "Hello City," "Frog at the Bottom of the Well," "To Make the City More Beautiful," "Hello Ho Chi Minh City," and the short play "A Story That Belongs to No One," performed by young singers: Kieu Oanh, Di Huong, Y Nhi, Nhat Kha, Ha Di Huong, the Nam Saigon singing group, and the Tu Te drama group.
Immediately after the performance, the students participated in an interactive session and a Q&A competition revolving around issues and situations such as: disposing of trash properly, correct and exemplary behavior while participating in traffic, the spirit and responsibility of building a civilized urban lifestyle, how to behave on social media, and how to resolve conflicts and disagreements with friends in public places…
Ms. Tran Thi Diem Xuan, Principal of Nguyen Hue Secondary School, shared: “We are very happy and excited that the theatrical propaganda program is being held at our school. This is both an opportunity for students to be entertained and enjoy art, and at the same time help them learn more useful cultural and social knowledge. The program also promotes the value and meaning of the school, not only as a place to impart knowledge but also as an environment to nurture character, cultivate good life values for students, helping them gradually form a civilized lifestyle, know how to behave appropriately, and spread good values in life and in the community.”
In the course of urban development, building a civilized lifestyle and promoting cultured communication and behavior in public places, especially in schools, is becoming increasingly important. This is because every word and action of students today forms the foundation for shaping a generation of exemplary and civilized citizens in the future.
According to Le Duc Phap, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Culture and Exhibition Center: “With students as our target audience, we have developed a program with clear content, plots, and situations drawn from daily life. We collaborate with a professional advisory board to provide specific information and solutions that are easy to apply in practice. In addition, the center is also implementing performances on ‘hot’ issues relevant to students, such as school violence and domestic violence, with the hope of helping them develop life skills, communication skills, and the ability to handle situations appropriately in life.”
