And on this year's Ancestor's Death Anniversary, the people of Tan Phu, Thoi Binh in particular, and Ca Mau in general, are even more proud when their hometown simultaneously organizes a ceremony to pay respect and offer incense to the National Ancestor Lac Long Quan at Dat Mui.

According to the acting Chairman of Tan Phu Commune People's Committee, Le Van Quy, for more than 40 years he has known about the Ancestor's Death Anniversary in Giao Khau area, and now receiving an invitation to accompany the offering of incense to the National Ancestor in Dat Mui Commune (Ngoc Hien District) before the Ancestor's Death Anniversary on March 10, he feels both proud and worried. "Proud that Ca Mau has a place to offer incense to the National Ancestor. Worried about whether the preparation for the traditional Ancestor's Death Anniversary in our locality is guaranteed? Because the Hung King Temple is in the process of being renovated and upgraded", the acting Chairman of Tan Phu Commune People's Committee, Le Van Quy, expressed.

Recalling exactly 10 years ago, in 2011, was the time when Tan Phu officials and people solemnly held the 10/3 death anniversary ceremony and received the certificate of recognition as a provincial-level historical and cultural relic. Since the day the relic was recognized, people in the area have welcomed more and more visitors from all over the country to the temple on the occasion of the death anniversary. In order to promote the historical and cultural value and perfect the architectural beauty of the Hung King Temple to be worthy of a provincial-level relic and capable of meeting the people's needs for the death anniversary, the People's Committee of Ca Mau province later approved the Investment Project to build a new and upgrade the Hung King Temple. The province assigned the People's Committee of Thoi Binh district to be the investor for this project.

From a bamboo temple of a few dozen square meters on the riverside, after more than 150 years, it has developed into the Hung King Temple area of hundreds of square meters; and now, the official campus of the temple has a total area of more than 2,000 m2 . That is not to mention many auxiliary works that form the Hung King Temple relic complex with about 9,000 m2 .

This year's Hung Kings Commemoration Festival is held for 3 days, from April 19-21, 2021 (the 8th, 9th and 10th of the 3rd lunar month). The festival includes the following activities: Organizing sports tournaments with competitions such as football, volleyball, folk games and art programs at the Tan Phu Commune Cultural - Sports Center and at the temple to serve the people. This content takes place on April 19 and 20, 2021.

The ceremony was solemnly held on the 10th day of the third lunar month, with traditional rituals: The palanquin offering ceremony, offering local specialties and products to show the gratitude of Thoi Binh people to the Hung Kings and their ancestors; the folk cake offering ceremony (selected at the 2021 "Southern Folk Cake" festival with the theme: Colors of the Southern Land"). And the practice of offering incense, offering wine...

“This year is special, the provincial and district leaders offered incense from the Lac Long Quan Temple (National Ancestor) of Ngoc Hien district to the Hung Kings at the Hung King Temple, Giao Khau hamlet, Tan Phu commune. The district People's Committee is interested in directing the assurance of security and order conditions; ensuring food safety; especially measures to ensure safety in preventing and combating the Covid-19 epidemic,” informed Vice Chairman of Thoi Binh District People's Committee Tran Minh Nhan.

Vice Chairman of Thoi Binh District People's Committee Tran Minh Nhan said: The project to renovate, embellish and upgrade the Hung King Temple in Tan Phu Commune, Thoi Binh District has a total construction time according to the contract of 360 days (started on December 11, 2020, completed on December 11, 2021). To date, the construction progress has reached 42% of the volume. The rate of disbursement of planned capital has reached 41%. The project is under construction on schedule, ensuring completion ahead of the contract.
