Hanoi youth line up to receive special Nhan Dan supplement on April 30

The scene of many young people lining up on Hang Trong Street waiting to receive a supplement attracted a lot of attention.

Accordingly, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), Nhan Dan newspaper launched a media campaign to honor this historical milestone.

One of the highlights is the special exhibition arranged right in the newspaper campus, next to Hoan Kiem Lake - the central location of Hanoi . The capital's public has the opportunity to admire press products bearing the historical mark, associated with the glorious moments of the nation.

The exhibition displays 11 front pages of Nhan Dan Newspaper, published on April 30 during the period from 1975 to 2020.

Most prominent is the newspaper page dated May 1, 1975 with the bright red headline: "The South is completely liberated", next to the portrait of President Ho Chi Minh .

In addition to newspaper pages, the exhibition also recreates milestones in the Central Highlands Campaign, the Hue - Da Nang Campaign and the peak of the Ho Chi Minh Campaign. Rare documents combined with 3D mapping projections have helped viewers relive the heroic atmosphere of those historic days.

Notably, Nhan Dan newspaper also released a special supplement "Ho Chi Minh Campaign" with the application of augmented reality (AR) technology, allowing readers to interact directly with the content via smartphones. In parallel, the electronic website thongnhatdatnuoc.nhandan.vn was also officially launched, integrating new technologies to vividly recreate the journey of national reunification.

According to the records, the exhibition attracted hundreds of people to receive the newspaper. Along Hoan Kiem Lake, long lines of people slowly walked forward with the desire to receive this special issue and experience the interactive exhibition space commemorating the 50th anniversary of the historic April 30th.

Sharing his feelings after receiving a newspaper, Mr. Le Minh Tuan (Hanoi) expressed: “Coming to the exhibition, I learned interesting historical knowledge. From special supplements to interactive QR codes, from 3D models to vivid films, history is not only told, but also lived with today's young people.

These enlarged newspaper pages not only recreate memories of a time, but also serve as a vivid lesson about patriotism and indomitable spirit. I believe that when modern technology is introduced into the exhibition, young people will feel history vividly and with all their hearts.”

Holding in her hands the special supplement of Nhan Dan newspaper, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh, a retired cadre in Hanoi, shared: “Seeing the pages of the newspaper 50 years ago with my own eyes, I feel like I am reliving unforgettable moments. At that time, my whole neighborhood cheered when hearing the news of liberation.”
