Hanoi University of Science and Technology has just announced the plan to organize the 2026 Capacity Assessment exam.
Hanoi University of Science and Technology said that the Thinking Skills Assessment (TSA) has been researched, designed and implemented over the years. The goal of the TSA is to assess three basic thinking abilities of students, including: Mathematical Thinking, Reading Comprehension and Scientific Thinking/Problem Solving - important factors that help students learn best in a university education environment.

To comply with the new general education program of the Ministry of Education and Training, the content and format of the TSA exam have been implemented according to the design and will remain stable for many years to come.
Accordingly, the test consists of 3 parts: Mathematical Thinking (60 minutes), Reading Comprehension (30 minutes) and Scientific Thinking/Problem Solving (60 minutes). These are 3 independent parts, the test questions will focus on assessing the thinking ability of the candidate in each part, not directly testing the knowledge of any subject.

The test format is computer-based multiple-choice, and the test results will be valid for 2 years for university admission purposes.
Many modern testing technologies have been applied to the Exam such as: Technology for building standardized thinking test questions, bridge theory in the exam, technology for scoring exams according to the multi-parameter IRT model, automatic check-in technology according to CCCD cards integrated with the personal data management system on the National Population Database to identify candidates taking the exam, completely preventing proxy exams and cheating in exams...
