Raising public awareness

One of the highlights is the widespread participation of the entire population in drug prevention and control. Propaganda efforts have been intensified through diverse forms, tailored to different target groups, from schools and residential areas to businesses with security and order requirements. The content focuses on clarifying the harmful effects of drugs, the methods used to lure and entice young people, and the legal regulations related to the illegal possession, use, and sale of narcotics. As a result, the awareness and compliance with the law among the people, especially young people, have significantly improved; many families have proactively cooperated with the authorities in managing and educating their relatives, contributing to preventing the problem from an early stage.

The police in Dinh Thanh commune distributed leaflets to raise awareness about preventing and combating social evils among female officials and members.

Recognizing social prevention as a key solution, commune-level police forces proactively advised Party committees and local authorities to include the goal of building drug-free areas in the local development resolution for the 2025-2030 period. Hundreds of awareness campaigns were organized, thousands of leaflets were distributed directly to the people, along with a widespread installation of billboards and slogans, helping to raise community awareness and create a strong ripple effect in society.

In addition, the management of drug addicts and illegal drug users has been implemented strictly and comprehensively. Following the motto "identify each individual, manage each case," the authorities have created management files, promptly identifying new users to be monitored and processed according to regulations. Two drug rehabilitation centers in the province are operating effectively, implementing a personalized rehabilitation model combining treatment, education, vocational training, and behavioral rehabilitation. Nearly 1,000 people who have completed rehabilitation are being managed and supported in reintegrating into the community, preventing any security or order issues from arising.

By the end of 2025, the entire province will have 19 communes meeting the standards of drug-free areas, including: Ninh Quoi, Vinh Loc, Hong Dan, Vinh Phuoc, Vinh Loi, An Trach, Dat Moi, Phu My, Tan Hung, Nguyen Phich, Ninh Thanh Loi, Hung Hoi, Vinh Hau, Tan Thuan, Ta An Khuong, Vinh Thanh, Tam Giang, Khanh An, and Hung My. Along with these localities, there are also exemplary models and innovative approaches, becoming bright spots in the nationwide movement to protect national security.
