When danger strikes, the armed forces of Dong Nai province are always a solid support for the people. With the spirit of “serving the people”, officers and soldiers do not hesitate to face difficulties to rescue and protect the lives and property of the people. These brave and timely actions have strengthened trust and further tightened the close relationship between the army and the people.

Recently, Dong Nai province has continuously recorded many incidents showing the bravery and responsibility of the armed forces. Stories about saving lives, protecting property and humanity in times of trouble have left deep emotions in the community.

Stand with the people

On the afternoon of September 4, in Dong Tam commune (Dong Nai province), Mr. BVV (60 years old) fell into a dry well more than 20m deep. Upon receiving the report, the Fire Prevention, Fire Fighting and Rescue Police Department of Dong Nai Province Police dispatched a specialized vehicle and 10 officers and soldiers to the scene. Determining that the victim was still alive, the rescue team quickly dropped an oxygen tank into the well to assist with breathing, and at the same time sent soldiers directly into the well to bring Mr. V. to the ground safely.

In natural disasters, the image of soldiers becomes even more familiar and dear. Typically, on the morning of September 12, heavy rain caused localized flooding in many communes and wards of Dong Nai province. Commune police and militiamen worked tirelessly to wade through water to each household to help move property, and bring the elderly and children to safety. At the same time, traffic police deployed traffic control and warned people to avoid accidents.

In addition to the above incidents, many other unexpected situations also showed the timeliness and humanity of the armed forces. According to the Traffic Police Department of Dong Nai Province Police, in the early morning of September 7, a patrol team of the Traffic Police of the Provincial Police discovered a 17-year-old boy jumping off An Hao Bridge (Tran Bien Ward, Dong Nai Province) into the Dong Nai River. The soldiers quickly coordinated with the people to save the victim and bring him back to his family.

These stories are just a small part of the many incidents that Dong Nai armed forces have participated in: from rescue, disaster response to security and order protection. All of them exude bravery, sense of responsibility and sincere affection for the people.

Strengthening people's trust

The brave and humane actions of the Dong Nai armed forces in recent times have great significance. They are clear evidence of the role of a “shield” protecting the peaceful lives of the people. When accidents, natural disasters or unexpected incidents occur, the officers and soldiers will always be the first to arrive, ready to rush into danger to save people and minimize damage.

Mr. Vu Tien Trung (residing in Binh An commune, Dong Nai province) acknowledged: “Those actions have affirmed that the motto “serving the people” is not a slogan but is demonstrated by concrete actions. Whether day or night, hot sun or windy, the officers and soldiers still steadfastly stay in dangerous places. For them, happiness is when each life is saved, each roof is rebuilt, each worry of the people is shared.”

During the performance of duties, unit commanders and police of units and localities are required to regularly inspect, urge and remind officers and soldiers to uphold their sense of responsibility and cultural behavior. Be ready to support and help people when requested or when necessary, thereby creating a beautiful, close image, strengthening people's trust in the police force.

Ms. BTN (mother of the teenager who jumped off An Hao bridge and was saved on September 7) expressed her emotion when the police force promptly saved her son's life and wholeheartedly encouraged and helped him overcome his mental crisis. The police officers are not only law enforcers but also have a humane heart, always ready to sacrifice for the people. That action has lit up in her the belief in humanity and sharing in life.

In the coming time, in the face of unpredictable natural disasters and accidents, the armed forces must continue to improve their qualifications, invest in equipment, and train their skills to successfully complete their tasks. At the same time, the coordination between sectors and localities, along with the support of the people, will create a combined strength, ensuring the most effective rescue work.
